Sprinkle evenly on top of litter. For one cat with a standard size litter box, we recommend using at least half a pack for a concentrated layer. Adjust accordingly per number of cats in the household or size of the box. Allow your cat to use the box as usual. When pellets come in direct contact with urine, they will turn from yellow to blue within 60 seconds if blood is detected. Color change will last for up to 48 hours. Check their litter box more frequently if you believe there is a health concern. If color changes occur, consult your veterinarian.

FOR PET USE ONLY. Keep out of reach of children. Inspect regularly and replace when litter becomes damp and/or soiled. A parasite found in cat feces may cause toxoplasmosis, especially in pregnant, nursing, or immunocompromised persons. Consult your physician for more information. Wash hands well after handling soiled litter. Dispose of litter in trash. Do not flush in toilets or dispose of in gutters or storm drains. Store in a cool, dry place.

Great for all homes with feline friends!

This product is perfect to have in any home with a feline friend! Especially if you have one like mine who gets occasional UTI's. When there are blue pellets noticeable that is when I know we need to see the vet again. I'm very glad to have this product on hand!

Yes, I recommend this product.

Question about product NOT answered.

Very disappointed. My cat's urine turned the pellets into a light turquoise color that isn't on the color spectrum printed on the box. I've tried multiple times to get an answer from someone at Petco as to what the turquoise color means. No one has answered my question. I had hoped this would be a great tool to monitor my CKD cat's urine at home, so if something seemed 'off' I can take her for a urinalysis. This product is Petco's house brand and so I can't get an answer from the manufacturer, as it's not made available.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Easy way to monitor your cat's health

This is an interesting product to help monitor the health of your cats. The box includes easy-tear, pre-portioned packs that you sprinkle on top of your current litter. I would use this to monitor your cat's health every so often, not if you already suspect as issue.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Fun but also good for info!

I was so excited to try this out! We have a little robot and use their brand of litter which does not provide this type of health indicator. So far so good, none of the cats show any issues so I would assume the cat litter topper is working.

How long is sprinkled indicator good for once dispensed in the litter, assuming it has not yet made contact with urine? Could it last several weeks up until the point it makes contact with urine?

What are the pellets made out of? Are they silica-based, starch, etc?
