There is no weight limit for these pans. Weight, alone, would not prevent a 22lb cat from using them. However, if the cat’s size is larger than the dimensions of the pan, that could prevent usage. The Extra-Large version of the Lift to Sift (sku 3164799) is the largest version for sifting, (22.5" L X 17.25" W X 10.5" H). Yes! I've had mine a year+ and always use clump. I love it and bought another one for granddaughter & kitties. I dont like tray liners and requires more cleaning without clump imo.

Yes, this comes with high sides. The product pictures you refer to as not showing it with high sides are pictures of how it comes when it is shipped. All the parts nest for shipping. If you look at the picture and count the parts in the stack, there are four. If you look at the pics showing it with high sides, there are three parts under the high side. The Petco Customer Service answer that it does not come with high sides is a result of them being located in the Philippines and not having a clue about the product. And it should not have been pictured nesting because that is a useless and confusing picture. Who knows where in the world their product display people are located because they don't have a clue either.

Pour clean litter into Tray A. #2 – To clean, pour contents of Tray A onto Sifter Tray. #3 – Lift Sifter Tray to separate waste from clean litter. Dispose of waste.
