To help maintain a healthy pet, change the bedding regularly. Always replace the old bedding with fresh bedding. A dirty habitat could result in your pet developing respiratory problems due to ammonia buildup in the habitat caused by urine.

Immediately Open Bag When You Get It Home!!

Sunny

I have been using this fragrance free crumbled paper litter under timothy hay for my guinea pigs for over 10 years.....I used to pay 19 dollars for the big bag....go figure price skyrocketed.....but there is a strong smell, almost a slight chemical odor....when you FIRST open the bag. Not good in any way shape or form!! To stop this smell and make it safe for my pigs, I immediately open the bag to fresh air when I get it home and I leave it open at all times so the smell disappears. I make sure I always have a backup bag fully opened to air out while I finish up the old bag. After a few days open to air the smell goes away completely and the bag is ready to be used. I toss it around too so underneath litter in the bag gets aired out too. Just never close the bag! I was always afraid of respiratory issues using the litter right out of the bag so this open air-out method prevents this. I never want my pigs having a chemical smell underneath them....just a fresh hay smell. I hope this suggestion helps other pet owners keep their furry friends safe! It works!

I am using this as litter for my ferrets (for several years now) and it is my favorite. Placed in a large plastic pan, easy to change, absorbent, no smell.

The best bunny litter. Not too heavy!Absorbent! Helps mask odors, I just cover the p&p very lightly every 24 hrs, and then dump the whole thing every 2 days for my house rabbits!

What bedding would you recommend for a hamster?

  1. Wouldn’t recommend this to use this as their main bedding. Hamsters love to burrow and they wouldn’t be able to make tunnels with this bedding. Regular paper bedding or aspen or a mixture of both would work better. I only use this crumbled paper bedding in a small area of the cage for my hamsters to dig in.

Well this bedding kill my mice people say backing soda kills mice and that’s what’s in the bedding I want my money back if that’s true

  1. I use this bedding on my chinchilla and he is just fine I have been using it for 4 years now so I would think your mice would be fine as well.

If it can be recycled to green bin?

  1. Hi Not Bully, This can be recycled if unused. If there is animal waste in the paper, it cannot. It can be put into compost. Thanks,

witch bag will last at lest 2 weeks in the Midwest Guinea Habitat Plus Guinea Pig Cage, 47" L X 24" W X 14" H?

  1. Hi micewanted545, It depends on how much bedding you would like to put in the habitat. We recommend a 1-2 layers of bedding). If you would like to provide one inch of bedding in the habitat, the 40L will last through two bedding changes which will get through 2 weeks. If you would like to provide 2 inches of bedding, you should look for a bedding option that is at least 80L to last 2 weeks (perhaps SKU 2373062). Thanks,

how many times do you use this product

  1. Hi all27, Inspect product on a regular basis and replace if bedding becomes damp or soiled. Replace with fresh bedding frequently. Thanks.
