ZEROPHOS DOLCE Phosphates derive from the decomposition of food residues, plant remains and fish wastes. In small amounts, phosphate is necessary for plant development, but an excess promotes the proliferation of algae. Apart from being unattarctive, algae can hinder plant growth. ZEROPHOS eliminates phosphates in 48 hours and keeps their level at an adequate concentration for plants. ZEROPHOS effectiveness varies, depending upon the amount of phosphate initially present, and the rate at which new phosphate is produced by decomposition. This, in turn, depends upon the population density and on the efficiency of the filter system. For this reason, we advise checking the level of phosphates periodically to determine the optimum schedule for product replacement. ZEROPHOS does not alter pH and is harmless to the aquarium's inhabitants. It also reduces the amount of silicates dissolved in the water.

Hello. My cat is at about stage 3 renal failure. Her phosphorus level is quite high. Have repeatedly tried renal foods but very difficult to get her to eat it. I have read that aluminium hydroxide, Alu-Cap brand name, can be quite effective at lowering phosphorus levels. Do you have any first hand knowledge of this please? Thanks very much for your time.

Hi, I've been giving my dog a homemade diet since he was diagnosed with kidney disease and supplemented it with a little eggshell powder which acted as his calcium. The vet has now given a phosphate binder called ipakitine and in the ingredients it says it contains calcium carbonate. Do I stop giving the eggshell powder now as this ipakitine contains calcium? Thanks

Does the Nutri-Vet Pet-Ease Cat Paw Gel work to maintain urinary pH for struvite stone dissolution and prevention? My cat has a past history of struvite stones (8 years ago) and doesn't eat the urinary SO diet (wet or dry) She is a picky eater and will only eat the blue wilderness salmon high protein wet food when I gave her options. But, I read online that some pet owners have used regular high protein wet food in addition to this nutri-vet or other dl-methionine supplements.

When I change the water in my fish tank, after I add the appropriate amount of conditioner, a white fuzz seems to appear on all the objects in my tank, aside from the fish. I’ve had the tank for over a year now and it happens on all the water changes. My fish seem to be unaffected (I have 4). What could potentially be happening?
