Yeah, listen to the reviews. They can’t even make a simple heater work. Mine would turn on for 10 seconds at a time and then turn off and not heat.

Garbage - Awful Product failed in a very sort time

We bought this two years ago and it has worked great. We decided to love our fishees a little better so we upgraded them from a 20 gal tank to a 40 gal. This still worked great throughout the summer but now that autumn has hit, we had to buy one with a greater wattage for the bigger tank and colder air. We bought the same brand again after having solid performance from the smaller one for 2 years.

i really wish i read the reviews before i bought this heater, i saw it in the store and thought it would be reliable. It worked for 6 months but the bulb randomly broke over night and electrified 7 of my 12 fish to death that i've had for a year and a half just like that. Absolutely crushed me, definitely better filters out there, wouldn't use this thing even if it was free

I bought this heater a month ago and it's the worst! You have to physically remove the heater because the "scan hands free" function will not work through the glass ans water. I have it set to 90degrees in a 20 gallon tank and the water is 70 degrees. Don't waist your time or money this thing is terrible.

I should have read the reviews before I purchased this... I agree with all the other bad reviews. There is no manual adjustment, just the app. I set it with the app, worked the first time, but then it disconnects when you move away from it, so you can't see what the temp is set at any more. Can't connect back to it, the instructions say, if you can't connect to it, take it out of the tank and try it close to your phone, WHAT! Yea, that's convenient, take it out of the tank everyday to see what the temp is set at??? Returned it and got one with a dial and no APP. Do waste your time or money. Hopefully Petco will remove this product and tell the mfgr how many bad review it gets.

Can’t connect to calibrate more than 90% of the time. It has to be right up against the phone and it heats up waiting fir a connection so I hold the lower end in the water. It still won’t register. If you pause after you start calibrating, it locks you out. It’s useless as something adjustable. I should have looked further when I saw it was digital, had I known it was only adjustable via an app I never would have bought it. Don’t buy anything without a knob.

Had I seen “no manual regulation,” I never would have bought it. It doesn’t work. I was able to set it with repeated efforts to connect. It needs to be out of the water and plugged in. It gets hot well before it connects. Trying to adjust later it wouldn’t keep a connection, even holding it and my phone over the water. Now says I’ve reached a limit of attempts. Now says I’ve reached some kind of limit, I don’t know what and won’t be bothered a losing battle with a crappy product.
