Questions
Does it have the capabilities of being seat belted in a car?
My cat is 14 pounds. Is this carrier big enough for a large cat?
- I have three cats of varying weights and lengths. One is seven pounds with long bones and body. One was 11 pounds but but back in weight know 14poinds with small bones shorter limbs but big head. I have one with a long body wash 22 pounds know the weight is going down to 17 pound, this cat has long body and short feet. For the seven pins cat this would fit. But for the chubby cat and long body cat it would not fit them. You have to measure your cat from its next to it's tail with a couple of inches More for the carriers length. Next you have to measure the cats width when sitting down. Next when the cat stands up you have to measure it's height from the floor to where it stands by its body not it's head in the measuring. A 14 pound chubby short bone cat must have as close to a minimum length of 14 1/2 to 17" on the backpack carrier . The width should not be less than 10 inches. The most comfortable length is 17 inches in length and 10 1/2 inches in width with 16-17 inches in height. The 17 inch cat carrier with 10-10 1/2 inches is preferred. For the long boned short limbs cat with narrow body 17 inches is the best carrier with a minimum of 9 inches. Ventilation is very important in hot summers. They look out the side windows most of the time because the bubble dome sometimes distorted the front view depending on how it is made in the factory. In fall and Winter heavy duty back pack carrier with thick sides and front and back over cloth is preferred. It keep them warm and I like the ones that keep out draft. Nylon mesh is pretty goodfor the side windows. They prefer dark mesh to keep the sun out of their eyes. Also they can't scratch through nylon as they can with other types of carriers, but it depends on the car and how comfortable they aare. If your cat is cramped up in the carrier it is not comfortable. There are time when they get over heated and need to stretch out. Big cats and long cats need a carrier backpack made for a medium size dog otherwise they will get sick when traveling. The zippers very important. My cats can and have unzippered the zippers and one came out of the carrier to greet a dog off the leash. Some Zippers let in cold air although sturdy. You might have to glue or sew in Velcro to cover up the zippers. A good cat carrier backpack usually has good strong zippers, but if your cat can open the zipper then you might have to replace the zipper and also use Velcro as added security especially when bike riding with your cat. Thin fabric is not good for the winter or the fall. You might have to open the carrier up when the temperature reaches 75 degrees because they get over heated. DlFans accessories, don't always help so it is best to keep them home when the temperature goes below 50 degrees or above 75 degree in a hard sided cloth backpack astronaut carrier.

CAN THIS GO EXTRA- EXTRA LONG DISTANCE VIA AIRPLANE ??? WELL FROM THE USA TO COSTA RICA. I AM FROM BOTH PLACES.....HAVING FAMILY IN THOSE PLACES..
- this cat carrier is not designed for long-distance travel; a cat-kennel is required;

Would you recommend this would be ok for taking my cat on a bike ride? How about a motorcycle ride?
- No carrier can save your pet from any accident while on a bike or motorcycle. Even what would be considered a little bump on a bike/motorcycle would send you both flying. I love my bike and motorcycle but would never put my cat at risk.
