Stay away

The unit does dissolve CO2, but… -It’s noisy because it can’t dissolve the bubbles fast enough trying to get my levels up. -Reduced flow of my Oase 600 flow -I use thick CO2 tube and when I tried to remove it from the CO2 nipple, it snapped off rendering unit unusable. I would stay away unless you put this on a dedicated pump and softer CO2 tubing. I really wished it would work.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Flimsy hose connections makes the unit leak. Regular CO2 tubing is too big for the nipple. Reduced the flow of my Fluv 407 to a trickle.

A bit noisy and leaked at first

Overall a good buy but it's a bit noisy while mixing the Co2. The noise may be due to a lower flow than required as I'm using a Hydor 250. I also had problems attaching the hoses but heating them up in hot water made them slip onto the connections OK. The bowl was leaking at first and needed tightened quite a bit to get the leaks stopped

Yes, I recommend this product.

Brand new to CO2 injection in the aquarium and wanted to be able to do this with an in-line device, not have a diffuser in the tank and tubes hanging all over the place. This installed inside the aquarium cabinet, completely out of view. After a few days the CO2 levels are optimal, the algae in the tank has all but disappeared, the plants are showing new growth. I couldn't be more pleased that I bought this.

Yes, I recommend this product.

This reactor works very well; diffuses co2 very efficiently. I am running this as inline reactor on outlet of Hydor 450 Professional Canister filter. I only see tiny micro bubbles making out from filter outlet and I expect that since I am injecting lots of co2 in my tank. Some people commented about decreased flow rate; well that’s expected; any inline stuff you add will reduce flow. But I do not see drastic change in flow rate. I was running DIY reactor (similar to AM 1000 but with larger barbs) and the flow rate is no different than my DIY reactor and I find this reactor more efficient than my DIY reactor. When the reactor arrived it had hairline crack in standpipe, I contacted petco and petco contacted vender; vendor agreed to send replacement part, instead of replacement part I received new reactor. This is how you know product is good because company that makes the product backup their product with 100% guarantee. And petco customer reps are really awesome they resolved my issue very quick. I am very satisfied with Petco, Manufacture Sera and with product.

Yes, I recommend this product.

I was impressed how well the impeller blades chopped up the bubbles and by the time it came out discharge nozzle there were no bubbles. I was able to cut the bubble count in half on my 125gal because there was no wasted CO2. When first started or after filter cleaning it will be noisy until all air has worked it's way out of unit, but after an hour it is very quiet. The 500 unit is good for most normal sized filter pumps like my Rena XP4 but use the 1000 unit with flow monsters like the Fluval FX5. This unit also does not require high pressure on your regulator like some of the micro bubble units which will not function until 30-50psi is reached.

Yes, I recommend this product.

I bought it for my 130 gallon aquarium to replace my UP aqua atomizer that wasn't enough. The reactor works fine, no bubbles come out from the filter's output.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Can this be used to diffuse DIY CO2? Like with 2 liter bottles of yeast/sugar mix?

What size of a hose does this take? I'm running a Fluval 407 and I think the hose size is a 16/22 or 5/8 I believe? Would it fit on this?

    1. It uses 1/2" or 12mm tubing.

Can I use this in a 30gal tank? If not, does Sere Floree reccomed one for a 30gal tank? Sera seems to get the best reviews so i feel like this is the brand i want but not sure on the size tank i have.

    1. Yes. Make sure you have a CO2 indicator as to not overdose the tank.

Can I plumb this unit directly in line from the outflow of a Marineland C360 or will it work better with a separate pump?

    1. You can run that with a external filter, but the specific turnover needs to be met. An empty filter pumps more water than one being filled with with filter media. The turn over should bei at least 750l (164 gal.). Othewise the impellers inside the CO2 reactors do not spin and do not smash up the gas bubbles.
