The Scarlet Hermit Crab has a larger adult size than most hermits but not so large that you have to worry about them getting into trouble. They have a vibrant red coloration that makes them a favorite among hobbyists. They scavenge fish waste, algae, and detritus that have been deposited on live rock and substrate. The Scarlets are even known to snack on the nuisance hair algae and Red Slime Cyanobacteria. These little guys can find their way into even the smallest of spaces. Like all hermit crabs, they make their home in empty snail shells, so be sure to have an array of empty shells available for them to move into when they grow. They will also take housing matters into their own pincers by occasionally eating a snail and taking that shell over; smaller snails are especially at risk. The Red Tips are very hardy but are sensitive to copper. Make sure to never add copper-based medications into an aquarium with invertebrates.

ACCLIMATION: Avoid exposing new aquatic life to bright lights after opening the box. Turn off aquarium lights prior to floating aquatic life. Allow the sealed bag with your new fish to float in your aquarium for at least 15 minutes (but no longer than one hour) to ensure the water in the bag matches the temperature in your aquarium. A bacteria booster addition can assist with the addition of new aquatic life. Petco offers free water testing in store to determine if your water is safe for the addition of new aquatic life. DIET: A well-balanced diet consists of a variety of flakes, pellets, freeze-dried and frozen foods, depending on the species. FEEDING: Feed sparingly and no more than fish can eat in 1-2 minutes. Overfeeding can quickly foul the water, especially in smaller aquariums.
If we need to contact you for any reason about your order, shipping of your package may be affected. Once your order is placed, you will receive a confirmation email with your order summary. Orders are subject to verification of payment information by phone or email. We ship for arrival to the customer Tuesday through Friday and Saturday for an extra charge where available.

bought three hermit crabs on June 28th. Two of them are very active and have even witnessed them changing shells a few times. However, the third one seems to be staying burrowed most of the time. I am concerned.
My hermit crab hasn’t changed her shell I bought her the right sizes and she hasn’t changed her shell for almost 3 months what should I do?
I found my hermit crab shell in my tank I think it’s dead but then I’ve seen legs inside of the tank and they moved what should I do oh an I took out the other shell
My turtle isnt moving much its about 3 inches and the shell is extremely soft around the edges i i believe shes sick nd or dying
My red eared sliders shell is discolored has hard/rough spots, and it’s not smooth. I don’t know if it’s she’ll rot or not. She also seems to be shedding excessively on her body, but never her shell.
I was washing Cooper' s shell when I noticed there a tiny red spot on her shell. When I press it on and disappears but when I lift my fingers the red spot comes back again. Also Cooper's soft shell is now gotten a little more worse and I don't have the money to go a vet. What can I do to help him. Please help me.I'm sorry the photos are a little blurry but I took them the best I can. Thanks and please answer this as fast as you can.
I have a baby red eared slider a friend bought from Chinatown then couldn’t keep. I believe it’s about 1-2 months old as it wasn’t even old enough to eat when I recieved it. I have him set up in a filtered tank with a dry rock area and some caves in the water that he likes to sit on. He’s developed a couple small white spots on his shell and I’m worried that it’s some kind of infection but I also don’t know if he’s maybe starting to shed his shell.
pet yellow head turtle back release layer is it any problem or it is natural plzz help
My chick's droppings are reddish brown
I have a red ear slider baby turtle and a light patch is on his foot is he ok
When I bought my white tree frog from Petsmart it had what looks like an old scar on his leg (see attached picture). So far he has been acting as normal as my other white tree frog, other than being a little shy and better at hiding. I've had him for over a week now, should I warrant concern? (And what is something I can do if there is.)
My frog is not eating since I bought it 2 days ago, it stays sticked to the tank's glass most of the time, it's skin color is dark green. I gave it a cricket and a worm.
