Great Rx dog food for pups with pancreatitis

Christabel1

This is an Rx dog food prescribed by our vet after our terrier got pancreatitis. We tried a range of low-fat foods and none of the others worked. This one works & keeps her healthy! She gets bored of the meatless flavor, so we sprinkle a tiny bit of "Fortiflora" probiotics from Purina on it, and she gobbles it up.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Made my dog itch!

Nutritionist recommended this along with sweet potato and 99% ground turkey for IBD dog. New diet eliminated loose stools, but she started itching constantly. Stopped the RC Vegetarian dry food and itching ceased. Regret that it didn't work for her tho continuing with rest of diet. Think RC product still great for many dogs.

Royal Canine Vegetarian is awesome

This is a great food for our dogs who have allergies. We battled skin issues for years until our dogs dermatologist started them on this. It is a little pricey, but if it cuts down on the Vet bills, that is a plus.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Miracle Food!

My dog had explosive diarrhea for three months! I have tried at least 10 foods the doctor prescribed another companies HA food and nothing helped! Said my prayers and did my research and came upon Royal Canin vegetarian dry kibble. I got one doctor to listen to me and he agreed to try it. The first 25% (mixed in with the horrible food) started to change his bowel situation! I did not expect that at all! The food is a true Godsend! It got rid of his IBD and pancreatitis! just amazing! Royal Canin please do not make any changes to this diet! There is one change you can make not food wise, but the sodium level could be reduce some because my dog has heart disease. Other than that this food has save my dog!

Dog hates it :-(

Our dog has intestinal disease and our vet prescribed this food to introduce novelty protein (to eliminate other possible allergies). Our dog absolutely refused to eat it. He would literally spit out the kibbles. I even mixed it with other food to hide it, he would still spit it out. Also, I believe it caused him gassiness. And it was extremely smelly. It just did not work for us.

No, I do not recommend this product.

I am sorry to hear that your pet did not like this formula. We do offer other novel protein options that your veterinarian can go over with you.<!--[if ReviewResponse]><![endif]-->

Life saving prescription dog food

JJSANCHEZ

My dog has a severe autoimmune disease which affects his intestines and overall digestion. He can not tolerate/digest normal dog food and was literally starving despite how much we fed him until his doctor prescribed this. This is the only dog food his body can process and now he can maintain a healthy weight!

Yes, I recommend this product.

Best Choice

I bought this over a year ago and my dog loves it. He suffered from skin allergies and the Apoquel wasn’t working while he was on the hydrolyzed protein which is also offered by Royal Canin. I’ve tried skin support By Royal Canin for him and nothing worked all while being on the Apoquel which is not cheap for a 60+ lb dog. So I decided to switch him to a vegetarian diet and this has been the best decision for him. No more itching and smelling of yeast and skin rashes all over his body. I only wish it came in a bigger bag. The 17lb bag doesn’t last long for us. But I hope this review helps someone else who has similar issues as we did.

My dogs dermatologist has recommended a hypoallergenic vegetarian diet that can not have any meat, fish, dairy, wheat, soy or corn including by-products or flavorings. Does Royal Canin Vegetarian diet dry food contain any of these ingredients ?
