Description

Please note that the product information displayed is provided by manufacturers, suppliers and other third parties and is not independently verified by Petco.

Royal Canin Urinary SO is a veterinary-exclusive wet dog food that supports bladder health. It increases the amount of urine produced to help dilute excess minerals that can cause crystals and stones. Low Relative Super Saturation (RSS) methodology helps lower ion concentration, which contributes to stone formation. A reduced level of magnesium helps prevent struvite stones from reoccurring.

  • - DOGS WITH URINARY CONCERNS: Royal Canin Urinary SO is a veterinary-exclusive wet dog food for dogs with urinary health concerns
  • - HELPS DISSOLVE STONES: Innovative urinary tract dog food helps dissolve pure struvite stones and helps prevent calcium oxalate stones
  • - BLADDER HEALTH: Lowers the risk of crystal formation using RSS methodology for dog bladder health
  • - S/O INDEX: The exclusive S/O Index creates an environment unfavorable to crystal formation in the bladder to support urinary health
  • - HIGHLY PALATABLE: Soft dog food texture is highly palatable and appeals to dogs with picky appetites

Concerning: steep quality decline

Torii

Something has gone wrong with this product. It was great but over the last few months (or more) there are more abnormalities. Consistency, density, smell (strength), appearance - any or all these qualities vary from can to can (or batch to batch really). NOW my dog spit it out! That’s never happened.

I have been using dog urinary SO for a year now and got new shipment. For the same price the canned food changed to a thin gravy and also smaller and less meat! I’m not happy and will talk to my vet about an alternative.

Food is so so but Petco stopped on line orders

Our dog enjoyed the wet version of this food for several months then stopped liking the product altogether. I had to mix a bit of another food in with it to get her to eat it. Not a good show. Sadder yet, the Petco we get the food from for awhile now stopped making it available on line to order. It appears that it is not in this store but if you go in, it is there. This gets annoying as it is much nicer to order all on line and then come in and not have to shop. I should say that from time to time they are out of this item. While not too often it really is a bad show as it is an Rx item and they are not sensitized to dogs with health issues.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Easier to feed than kibble version

My 16 year old dog needs prescription urinary stone prevention food or else she gets bladder stones, infections, and expensive vet visits. She's picky and hates this version the least of all the varieties I've tried feeding her. The senior canned version and gravy canned version are too wet and gives her runny poop, so I feed her this one with a little bit of meat topper to get her to eat it.

No, I do not recommend this product.

I have been feeding this food to my dog for years. This last shipment he won't touch! He started gagging. I feel like the company needs to check this food for quality control. I made him food with very low oxalates, and he gobbled it up. This scares me that there might be something harmful in this product.

Learn from Coca Cola, return the classic formula

My Bichon has been on Urinary SO exclusively for 10 years (won't touch the Loaf or the Dry though, only the gravy). I noticed the label changed a while back, but I did not realize the formula had changed. I was focused on the smaller can size, which meant I had to buy more frequently, that was an a-hole move btw. My VCA vet was unaware of changes as well. This really does explain some issues we have been chasing in the last two years, thought it might be her aging, but many symptoms line up with what others are saying in the reviews since the time of the formula change. She started having digestive issues, so we had to add in forti-flora. She became more lethargic, so we started arthritis meds. She is excessively gassy. Once a month will go through a few days of either diarrhea or vomiting. I can plainly see that the formula changed around Dec 2019 based on the sharp turn in the reviews, going from an average 5 star to an average 1 star. Royal Canin, why are you not listening to your customers? Why are you not responding to this systemic issue?

Someone gave me green label cans. Is it safe to give to my dogs, 45 pound lab chow mix14 years, , and 15 pound chewawwa and poodle mix10 years . We don't know that they have any problems of any kind.

  1. This is a medicated dog food, so unless your dog has urinary tract problems do not feed it to your dogs without consulting a vet first.
