Description

Royal Canin Ultamino is for pets with food sensitivities. It contains a protein source broken down to an amino acid level, so it's absorbed in the digestive tract with less risk of triggering a food sensitivity. B vitamins and amino acids reinforce the skin barrier. Omega-3 fatty acids EPA & DHA help promote healthy skin and coat. Plus, an exclusive blend of fibers helps support digestive health.

  • - DOGS WITH FOOD SENSITIVITIES: Royal Canin Ultamino is a veterinary-exclusive adult dog food for adult dogs with food sensitivities needing a short-term elimination diet or long-term nutrition
  • - REDUCES SKIN REACTIONS: Clinically proven to help reduce skin reactions that may be due to sensitivities to common proteins found in adult dog foods
  • - BREAKS DOWN PROTEINS: Innovative vet formula minimizes the risk of reaction with proteins extensively broken down to a size that's virtually unrecognizable by the immune system
  • - SKIN SUPPORT: Specific nutrients reinforce the skin barrier and help support healthy skin in dogs with sensitive skin and skin irritations
  • - HEALTHY DIGESTION: An exclusive blend of fibers helps support digestive health

Ultamino - treating protein losing enteropathy

Food4PLE

I have been using Ultiimino for the past two years as treatment for protein losing enteropathy in my dog. Its consistency and palatability have been great. For most of that time it has been the primary treatment.

I’ve started multiple patients on this diet and it makes my heart smile when I see them doing better! They are not trying to lick or chew or scratch their skin off and they actually like to play!

My dog was having an issue with vomiting. It wasn’t after every meal, but just enough that it was affecting her health. We decided to go with this diet and everything has been great for a couple of years now. I’ll be sticking with this diet.

Yes, I recommend this product.

This food has changed. I agree it is oily. Been feeding this to my dog for years. What is going on?

Oily mess

Something has definitely changed with this product. My dog has been on it for 8 years. Lately, the food is very oily. When the bag is finished, there is a puddle of oil in the bottom of the container. I will be discussing this with his veterinarian. We will switch foods if this persists!

Absolute failure by Petco

DO NOT ORDER THIS PRODUCT FROM PETCO. I submitted my order on a Wednesday evening and sent my prescription. Re-uploaded it twice. Called 3 times, messaged online support 3 times. Received no help or guidance. Then 5 days later was told to mail in my prescription. 2 days after I mailed it they said my order had been cancelled. If your pet has a prescription and its life depends on it then it might die. Not worth the risk. Absolutely abominable customer service.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Oily coating on last 2 bags

mav3952

My Greater Swiss Mountain Dog has been on Ultamino for the last 3 years. Up until lately, the product has generally been fine, though the clumping that others mentioned have been in quite a few bags. The last 2 bags however, have an oily residue on the kibble, to the point that you can't put it in your pocket for walks without it staining your clothes. You also cannot place it on the carpet for the same reason. Has the formulation changed? If so, it may be time to explore a new product.

Great food for dogs with IBD

Kloe

After dealing with soft stools, vomiting, and eventually some very quick weight loss, our vet diagnosed our 3 year old Rottweiler with IBD and recommended this food. For the first time in our rotties life, she finally started having firm stools and gained all the weight back. She also seems much happier.

Questions

1 - 3 of 3 Questions

My shih tzu has an excessive amount of tears and was seen by an ophthalmologist vet and received meds that did not work. It was then suggested to purchase royal canin ultamino food. Just wanted to know if the food would dry up his tears.

  1. That’s very interesting. Our dog has been on Ultamino for about three years for digestive issues. Recently he was diagnosed with chronic dry eye and is receiving medication for that. I don’t know if his dry eye is the result of his diet, but I will definitely be checking with his vet. Good luck with finding answers for your pup.
