Participated in UT weight loss program and this product was great. Dog loved it and was satisfied. He has food sensitivities and overweight; unfortunately I cannot find it outside of the program.

We adopted a sweet beagle girl back in June who was morbidly obese and needed to lose over 30lbs. Our girl absolutely loves this food and the fat is melting off. We love Royal Canin for our pets!

Chicken by-product 😡

BEWARE

Chicken by-product!!!!! Really vet recommended??? Why would they prescribe this kind of food for your dog or cat with these ingredients. Please people do your research before you buy dog food. Even if it is recommended from your vet. They are not nutritionist!!

Dog not Losing Weight with Royal Canin Satiety

Chance

I have been feeding my Shih Tzu mix the Royal Canin Wet & Dry Satiety food for the last 6 months. He has not lost an ounce. We go to the park every day and he wrestles with other dogs and runs around so he is getting plenty of exercise. Why isn't he losing any weight? I feed him 4 oz dry in morning 7:30 am and 4 oz wet at 5;30-6:30 pm. At new gets two baby carrots, or a dog treat, at night he gets his teeth cleaning treat. He weighs 24 lbs and should weigh 15-20 lbs.

My dog actually likes this out of all the prescription food we’ve tried.

Yes, I recommend this product.

My girl ate this with no problem

My senior in early renal ate this with no issues. I introduced it over 4 days. A little more ea time. It does have an odd smell. The kibble is in the shape of a kidney which just seems wrong. I was just glad she liked it since she needs it for her kidney health.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Only dog food that helped my dogs lose weight!

We tried several "weight management" dog foods (non-prescription). My dogs initially ate the other dog food but did not lose weight. Eventually they would tire out and I would have to try another which also did not help them lose weight. This is the only "diet" dog food that helped my dogs reach their goal weight.

Questions

1 - 4 of 4 Questions
Sort by: Newest Answers

The renal support dry, and canned dog food, states on the can that it is intended for intermittent or supplemental feeding only. Does that mean not to keep the dog on this as a regular diet?

  1. You should go by what your vet has told you. If they didn't make it clear, ask your vet to be specific on what your dog's diet should be. They would only prescribe this if the dog's bloodwork showed concern. It could be for a shorter time period or for the rest of your dog's life.

Hi, my dog's veterinarian that prescribe the renal support food is in my country, Ecuador, and I would like to take advantage of my time here to buy the food. Can I use that prescription to buy the food? Thanks for your answer.

  1. Hello. We used that food, but it was very difficult to find around Quito every few weeks. And very expensive. If you have a vet in the United States they may order the food for you. That is what I did. Good luck.

Hi! What is the different between the option A and S ?

  1. I started comparing "A" and "S". The ingredients are similar between them (but the answer from royalcaninexpert above states the vegetable versus chicken based proteins). "A" has min. protein 12% - max. protein 16%, phosphorus 0.27%, fat the same, fiber is 0.5% more than "S". "S" has min. protein 10.5% - max. protein 14.5% and phosphorus is 0.39%. Then I noticed there is a support "F" bag. It is also similar. It has min. protein 11.5% - max. protein 15.5%, phosphorus 0.40% but less fat 14% and fiber 3.9% than the bags "A" and "S". Your vet should be able to tell you the differences. Try to get a sample if you can. These are expensive and you never know if your dog will like it though this brand seems to have really good ratings/reviews.

Do I need veterinary prescription. How can I buy a renal food. My dog and I just arrived from Brazil and there it is not necessary to show any prescription to buy a low protein food. My dog is a miniature schnauzer.

  1. Hi Ju Bronzato, This will need your vet's approval. Please call (877) 738-6742 to order. Thanks,
