When all available refills are used or the authorization expires, we will reach out to your vet to obtain a new authorization. How much water should I be mixing with the food? How many cans of food should she be getting a day? I'm a little confused by the can...our dog fits into the 44lbs category...
- I add a little water just because they can use all the water they can get. My dog eats about a half can a day but he’s only 11#. I also add a little boiled chicken as well as either green beans or carrots. Sorry I couldn’t help more.

how much do I feed my dog a chihuahua/terrier mix who is 16 lbs and overweight.
- I fed my dog about 1/2 can twice a day plus about 1 cup of dry 2x a day. My dog weights nearly 40 lbs. I also added a lot of water too it. If you search the internet you will find a study from 2009 that says that giving your dog water that has a higher PH that it showed signs of helping with kidney issues.
