This food has absolutely been a godsend for my Australian cattle dog named Victor. His whole life he has struggled with terrible stomach upset and diarrhea until last summer when he was prescribed this incredible food. He has solid poop and never has stomach upset anymore! Truly a miracle! Thank you so much

Prescription Dog Food at a discounted Price

GBrannen

My dog has been on a special diet since he had pancreatitis. His vet put him on this dog food after his treatment. It is nice to be able to order it and have it delivered instead of going to the vet or pet store each time. The prices are also competitive to other stores. Another bonus is being on a subscription to reorder the food at a certain time, this gets me a discount on the price.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Royal Canin is at it again!!! Changing ingredients to save themselves money! Meanwhile our already compromised gastro dog are getting sick! This is so shameful! It’s all about the dollar and sadly we have no idea when they do this so our dogs end up suffering. Now I have to find another brand of dry food. They just did the same thing to the canned food and my poor dog suffered. Don’t trust Royal Canin with your beloved dog! Rating Royal Canin a F

My dog has been on this for a since August. Since being on this, her white fur has turned a Deep red color around her privates. It doesn’t wash off—it’s like a dye! Not happy with this !

Healthy and happy pups, that's all I ask for.

We've always fed our pups Royal Canin sine they were puppies, they're 4 years old now. Last week Hansi was hospitalized with pancreatitis, probably due to over indulgent masters. After an overnight stay at the hospital the vet recommended a low fat GI diet for Hansi. He's recovering, eating well and feeling 100% better. No more snacks! Just Royal Canin food from now on, we've learned our lesson. It is expensive but one overnight stay at the vet's along with labs and x-rays will pay for a year's worth of food not to mention the suffering my poor little guy went through.

Size of kibble

Little Doggie

My son uses the dry version of this food for his very small doggie; she's about six pounds. Does this food come in proper kibble size for the smaller dogs? She eats the kibbles but with difficulty. I am sure she would enjoy the smalller kibbles.

Questions

Yorkie 5 lb what amount of dry gastrointestinal low fat should I feed?

  1. I believe up to 11lbs it says 1-5/8 cups per day. However with my 5lb chihuahua I just pour in bowl and she eats whenever she wants. The bowl is a regular small bowl so its about 2 cups or so. They also have the treats however it's not lowfat just regular.

how much canned food should i feed a 30 lb cocker spaniel. He has just been put on low fat gastrointestinal food.

  1. I would check with your vet. We feed our 15 lb mini schnauzer 3/4 cup, a mix of dry & wet of this formula, twice daily. This formula was vet prescribed for her also. Looking at the chart on bag, I would say between 2 1/2 to 3 cups per day for a 30 lb dog.

Will this food reduce my dog’s weight

  1. I don’t think so. While I am not a veterinarian, my vet prescribed this because my dog had smelly and loose stools. Since starting this gastrointestinal diet the stool has been much less smelly and much firmer.

How many cups of dry dog food are in the 28.6 LB bag?

  1. Not sure but our dog eats 3+ cups a day and her 17 LB bag lasts 3-4 weeks. Hope this helps.

Is this good for puppies as well? My puppy is 2 months old

  1. I'd ask your vet.

my dog has no intestinal issues, but is a picky eater, is getting older & recently had 4 teeth extracted. I want the best food for him to live the happiest longest life possible. What to get???

  1. Thanks for reaching out, please contact your veterinarian for appropriate nutritional options

I am concerned that the second ingredient is "chicken by-product meal." what is that exactly? Thanks

  1. Thanks for reaching out. Please contact our Technical Services team at 800-592-6687 for ingredient questions and clarification

my morkie has been on this dry food for years and now has heart problems. I saw on the news that certain dog foods high in grains are now contributing to heart related problems.....any idea if this is a problem? I will also call my vet in the morning

  1. Thanks for reaching out. The FDA articles points our diets that are grain-free not high grain diets. The Gastrointestinal Low Fat is neither.
