six & 1/2 yr old Merri my rescue cat had 7 teeth extracted two weeks ago and she is obviously losing weight; a weight scale is in another part of the apartment building. the missing teeth are: lower rt rear molar, lower first and last left mola; upper left rear largest chewing molar, upper rt three rear molars. she wants tender centers and it seems they're too hard to eat but a few; purrs and is interested in Fancy Feast, Sheba, Friskies, Urgent Care A/D pate eats little or only licks

Fiffy got dental work done, 16 teeth removed, before this she was eating science bill diet sensitive stomach small breed dry dog food. Now that she doesn’t have much teeth left as she was missing before the 16, I am not sure what to feed her now I have tried various canned food such as the small breed science hill diet ones and a stew one but she won’t eat them. My 16 yr old Persian cat was recently diagnosed w/kidney disease. Doc prescribed Hill's Kidney Care. I've been trying to give the canned version for the first time ever because of dehydration. She eats some, but not enough, & has dropped from her usual 7 1/2 lbs to about 5 1/2 lbs. She licks & licks, but it takes forever for her to get it in. She also seems unable to pick up the dry version because of it's shape & size and her flat face. What can I do to get her to eat enough?
