Weight gain

FatCat

I free feed a limited amount of food daily and all 4 of my cats have gained weight since I started this food in May 2025. One gained 2 pounds in 4 months and his weight had been consistent for over a year. No medical issues.

My cat has suspected IBD and is prone to urinary crystals. He has been on this diet for almost a year and he loves it. I am a very happy customer and really hope Royal Canin does not change the ingredients. Also I hope they come out with a wet food version and treats!

Best food and works for my cat since my veterinarian put him on it in February. Stanley is also on fortiflora probiotic so it helps his stools and diarrhea.

I think the formula has changed I knew it looked different a few months ago and it’s been giving my cat diarrhea. Before the formula changed I loved this product

Made my kitty worse

I bought this food for my kitty who is a urinary cat + recent gastrointestinal problems. He had ultrasounds that he had intestinal thickening (likely IBD) and the vet recommended this food, however, I do NOT recommend it. It didn’t help with his issues and he even began losing weight again. He stopped eating and was basically spitting the food out, he NEVER does this. He LOVES his food! He also began hiding and not cuddling anymore which is so unlike him. I see others have had similar issues so I felt compelled to share my story. I work in a vets office and usually recommend RC, I adore their normal urinary food and other types they make, but this is a NO go for me. Maybe it works for some, but I just don’t feel comfortable not sharing his story. My boy switched to GI Biome from hills and is doing much better only a week into it. It’s sad because I spent a lot of money on this food only for it to have made my kitty worse.

As stated in the previous messages, this food is great for my cat's IBS and crystals in his bladder but he loves wet food. Could you formulate one?

Vet Suggested and it made my cat very sick

I was told to buy this for my cat for my vet because he had idiopathic cystitis. Look at the ingredients list. It makes no sense to feed your cat corn Brewers, rice, wheat, gluten protein, byproducts anyhow, my cat threw up for the last four days look for something more natural online. Vet schools are pushing this down vets and also paying premiums to have them sell it

Something has changed with this food. My cat has been eating this food for several years, and since opening the last bag he has had diarrhea. Has the formulation changed?
