We recommend at least a 7 day transition before you begin feeding the new food exclusively. Start by mixing 75% of the old diet with 25% of the new diet on Day 1 and Day 2. On Day 3 and Day 4, mix 50% of the old diet with 50% of the new diet. On Day 5 and Day 6, mix 25% of the old diet with 75% of the new diet. On the 7th day, you can feed the new food exclusively. This allows your pet's digestive system to smoothly adapt to the new food.

Why is only a 2.5# bag available?
- I wondered the Same thing about the Bag Sizes, and also on the soft food; I questioned an employee at Petco Why there are the Bigger size Soft Food for Other Breeds, Yet you can only get the small cans (size of a tuna can) and they're expensive!! I did buy the biggest bag of dry food I could find, which must be the 10 lb Bag; Also seems Crazy, as before switching brands I would buy her a 25+ pound bag of Blue Wilderness for about $52.99 which saved Greatly, as the smaller bag size I paid $22.99 for & the difference in the quantity & price was dramatically different! I'd save ($22.99 x 6 Bags = $137.94 vs $52.99, Saving Approximately $85.00 Savings). I don't know why Royal Kanin cannot Equate the Price by Quantity to a More Competitive, Sensible & Customer Satisfactory Affordability?? It's Very expensive; Definitely enough so, I am constantly debating a Change in Food!!!
