On Day 3 and Day 4, mix 50% of the old diet with 50% of the new diet. On Day 5 and Day 6, mix 25% of the old diet with 75% of the new diet. On the 7th day, you can feed the new food exclusively. This allows your pet's digestive system to smoothly adapt to the new food.

My dog develops allergies to grain free chicken/beef product. She loves the salmon and no allergies but then chronically eats grass. Vet suggested a prescription diet of venison or rabbit but my budget won’t allow it. Thoughts on this for allergies?
- My golden-doodle ate the Medium dog size Royal Canin brand, for 14 years. She did also eat grass, but it was rare, times when her stomach was upset. I actually don't think grain free is healthy for dogs, the fiber they get from grain helps with digestion.
