I am on month four of feeding my English Mastiff puppy the Royal Canin Giant Breed puppy food and I don't think I could be happier! My husband and I wanted to make sure Boudica (Boo for short) got the best start possible when we brought her home and we did a lot of research into the best options for nutrition including speaking to multiple vets and doing our own research. Royal Canin was the only brand that we could find that provided a food specifically designed for these giant puppy breeds who grow so rapidly in their first year that often times their nutritional needs can be very complex. Boo has enjoyed every bite and never gives us issues in eating all of her food. It can sometimes be nerve racking when you are feeding such large amounts of food to a puppy but having the feeding guidelines on the back have saved my sanity more than a couple of times. Every puppy visit at the vet, Boo has received a total clean bill of health and many veterinary staff have commented on her build and how healthy she looks. Thank you Royal Canin for helping to keep my big baby happy. <3

I had been using a different puppy food for my Great Dane but after talking to my vet she recommended getting something else. After some research I found Royal Canin and it was the best choice and had the best reviews. My puppy loves it. I mixed some of the old food with the new to help with the switch but after about two days she was leaving the old food in the bowl and only picking out the Royal Canin.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Very hard to find puppy food for a Giant Breed. A bit pricey but we tried 3 different brands and this the one she picked and is thriving on. One more month and we will be moving up to the Giant breed Junior

Should this dog food bag be vacuum sealed when purchased?

  1. If you are buying GIANT dog food it goes pretty quick, no need to seal.  A storage tub works great.

I have a 6 month old saint Bernard that is under weight is the a good brand to feed her to get her back to the right weight

  1. The Giant Puppy would be a great option for your pet!

Can I feed this to a 10 week boxer? I have a 9 week St. Bernard too and both dogs love this food. My boxer puppy prefers this giant breed mix over the boxer puppy mix. Any recommendations?

  1. Thanks for reaching out. Due to the size and nutritional need differences of a Boxer and St Bernard, we recommend to feed them separately.

I have a golden mountain dog, Bernese and Retriever mix. Should I feed her the Large or Giant brand of puppy food? She will be 80-120lbs

  1. We would recommend the Giant Puppy to err on the side of caution in case she does get up over 100 pounds.

Is a old english sheepdog consider a gaint breed? Can i give them this food? He is 3 months

  1. Based on AKC standards, the Old English Sheepdog is considered a large breed (60-100 pounds as an adult) and Royal Canin would recommend feeding the Large Puppy
