I have a 20 year old cat. Three times in the past year she has gotten constipated. She is healthy otherwise. The vet said this happens due to her age and changing foods wouldn’t help. Decided to do my own research and found this food. After about a week, she’s been pooping up a storm. More than she has in a long time. She loves the taste as well. I mix the food with her treats as well. I couldn’t be happier with this food. This food saved her from having to get enemas at the vet. I don’t mind the fuller litter box knowing she’s feeling good.

Yes, I recommend this product.

I bought this cat food originally for my kittens with IBD but My older picky cat loved it. My older cat has been dealing with vomiting his food for years. I tried many other food and brands with no succes. Since I started on R.C. digestive I have no more issues! I highly recommend it! For my foster kittens I ended up with prescription Royal Canin HP that works better for them.

We've fed this product to our cats for years and they loved it up until a year or so ago. About every third or fourth bag made our cats sick. Vomiting and diarrhea. Even the stray cats wouldn't eat it. We have switched brands. It seems like they charged the formula. Even the shape of the food is different

I have been a loyal Royal Canin Cat Food purchaser. I put Archie Manning on Digestive Care because he had Diarrhea for over 6 months and nothing seemed to help! His vet had him on meds and prescription food and it didn't work! The Digestive Care Food started working immediately and now Archie Manning no longer has Diarrhea!

This food literally saved my Bengal cat’s life! We adopted her when she was 2, she was fostered and kept in a cage because she had the runs all her life and was not able to control her bowel and was always hiding, she never felt good/normal. For 3 years I tried to make her better, took her to the vet, gave her every medication known, plus probiotics, pumpkin, all natural remedies, allergy foods (tried duck, venison, etc etc) and I finally found THIS! Our cat started being more outgoing as her stool startled firming up. For. While we continued media with this food, but she became healthy for the first time in her life at age 6, she is now off of all meds, she eats this and sometimes gets wet food and she’s SO happy, she lays in the sun in the kitchen then on my lap all day after the room is shady and she used to never play, she was too sick! Now she runs after her toys and loves to be cuddled and held, and we can hold her now that she is no longer covered in runny stool, that was very hard for me to wash her tail or feet when she would step into her stool in her litter box. I had to wash her so many times and there would be stool where she sat down because she would be stamping the floor with stool. We have a robotic litter box now that her stool is hard enough to get scooped out. Her stool used to spray out and cover the walls I’m sorry if you were eating TMI, but I can’t thank this company enough for this product and hope they never change the formula/ ingredients as this is the ONLY food that will keep her healthy. We can’t go through that again.

Was a recommended food for toothless cats with liver disease. It is the only food my 13-year old toothless cat, with elevated liver enzymes, will eat consistently.

Questions

1 - 9 of 9 Questions
Sort by: Newest Answers

What is the shape of the kibble? I'm looking for the version that's flat disk shaped.

  1. The Digestive Care is a flat disc shape with a hole in the middle

Do you notice a difference in their BM (more firm) as soon as they start eating it or does it take a couple of days?

  1. Yes it works. Might take a few days. I have been using it for years with my 16 year old cat.

Can I buy this formula in a smaller kibble form?

  1. I am only aware of the one kibble size. What is the problem? reflux?

what is the phosphorus content of this dry food?

  1. My cat's favorite! Specific content not listed on bag. Try going to web site: royalcanin.com

I a bit confused...will this help constipation or make it worse?

  1. The Digestive Care is meant for healthy cats that only experience occasional looser stools. If you cat has constipation, this is not an appropriate diet and we recommend to speak to your veterinarian

Is this a good food for cats with IBD?

  1. My cat is about 5 years old. I got him with stomach and gut issues, vomiting and runny or too hard stool. He stopped having problems with this food. He usually will only eat the Royal food even though I do feed my other cats a different food. I had tried the vet rx version of this and it did not work because he would not eat it. I would give it a try. My cat has been on it for about 4 years.

Would this food be comparable to the prescription gastrointestinal moderate calorie dry food from Royal Canin?

  1. Not familiar with the Rx Gastro but my kitty with pancreatitis does well with this. It's a particular shape that encourages chewing not swallowing whole. Re calories, my kitty eats whenever he wants and has maintained a great weight for years. Hope that's somewhat helpful

Can I feed my 3 months old kitten with this food?

  1. This diet is formulated for adult cats only.

Do you need a prescription to buy Royal cabin cat food for digestive problems???

  1. Thank you for your inquiry. This is a non-prescription pet food as may be purchased without a prescription.
