We recommend at least a 7 day transition before you begin feeding the new food exclusively. Start by mixing 75% of the old diet with 25% of the new diet on Day 1 and Day 2. On Day 3 and Day 4, mix 50% of the old diet with 50% of the new diet. On Day 5 and Day 6, mix 25% of the old diet with 75% of the new diet. On the 7th day, you can feed the new food exclusively. This allows your pet's digestive system to smoothly adapt to the new food.

- The Digestive Care is meant for healthy cats that only experience occasional looser stools. If you cat has constipation, this is not an appropriate diet and we recommend to speak to your veterinarian

Is this a good food for cats with IBD?
- My cat is about 5 years old. I got him with stomach and gut issues, vomiting and runny or too hard stool. He stopped having problems with this food. He usually will only eat the Royal food even though I do feed my other cats a different food. I had tried the vet rx version of this and it did not work because he would not eat it. I would give it a try. My cat has been on it for about 4 years.

Would this food be comparable to the prescription gastrointestinal moderate calorie dry food from Royal Canin?
- Not familiar with the Rx Gastro but my kitty with pancreatitis does well with this. It's a particular shape that encourages chewing not swallowing whole. Re calories, my kitty eats whenever he wants and has maintained a great weight for years. Hope that's somewhat helpful
