No more choking or regurgitation!

Kelly W

We have a Frenchie who has had a hard time with other foods and regurgitation. We tried a number of different slow feeds, etc which helped but she was still having issues. Moved her to this food and there is no longer a problem! I was surpised at how large the pieces of food are, but that is by design and yes they are hard, but if you read the instructions, you are supposed to add water to the food before serving, which of course softens it up a bit. I add warm water and let it set a few minutes before feeding her and since we have switch there has been no regurgitation, no choking, etc. because she chews the food vs trying to swallow it how like with smaller kibble. She also loves it and has no issues with the taste. Our other dog likes to come behind her and make sure everything is gone, which it always is. We following the feeding amount recommendations (which are by weight vs volume) and she has maintained a healthy weight. I get the larger bag now (30lb) because it is so much less expensive than the smaller sizes.

Yes, I recommend this product.

She Always had a sensitive tummy, but for 2 years this worked very well! Then suddenly in Sep 2025 she stopped eating and got sick. Finally changed food and she's healed and eating again. Recently tried an experiment mixing this back in with new food and she says around this and wouldn't touch it.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Thank you for the sample bag. I was excited to switch brands. My dog won't eat it. I think it's both a kibble size and flavor issue.

My Frenchie loves it!! Im going to be honest Ive looked into buying the breed specific from Canin, but wasnt sure if it was just a gimmic. Since I've started her on it I've noticed a positive change in her wrinkles very slight but enough to make me happy, She loves the taste and doesn't have any issues chewing it. Esp bcs she needs braces... bad!! Lol she never really had smelly gas, only on ocassion. Ive noticed an improvement in her gas over all.

Questions

1 - 8 of 8 Questions

were having hard time finding adult bulldog royal canin , thats all my bullie has ever eaten" can i use french bulldog canin until supplies lossen up!

  1. I have a French. I would send a text or contact them directly with your questions. I seem to recall that they were responsive the few times I contacted them. The thing you could try is boil chicken drumsticks and substitute it for a portion of the regular food. Both my dogs ate all of their regular as long as I added some boiled chicken drumsticks

Can water be put on this food

  1. It sure can!

do you recommend serving wet or dry

  1. Our bulldog likes royal canin dry food but we mix a little cooked hamburg to brighten the her food.

Hello, i have a frenchie (1yr) and also a an older Boston terrier (8yr) - could I also feed my Boston this food?

  1. We have a  Boston 9 yrs and a Frenchton (half Frenchmen and half Boston). This is the food we use and it seems to agree with both of them.

Is it okay to give the puppy adult formula for their breed?

  1. It is not recommended as an adult food will not provide the necessary nutrition

My pup frequently gets impacted analglands. I've tried both increasing his fiber intake (bulk up BMs) and feeding him lower fiber foods (reduce the amount of BMs), but neither has worked. Does this food address gland impaction?

  1. Our vet recommended a heaping tablespoon of pumpkin to our frenchies meal a day. Problem solved!!!!!

My frenchi vomits at least once per week after eating his food. I have tried different kinds of food for him. Any thoughts?

  1. My baby had the same problem! Try Hollistic Health Extension, now he doesn’t vomit at all:-)

I have a french bulldog that is 4 months old. I know this says adults, but am I able to feed my puppy this or which royal canin food would you recommend?

  1. As a breeder I would recommend feeding puppy food until at least one year with small breed dogs and two years with large breed dogs. The Frenchie puppy food is never (IMO) available IN store and must be ordered online! Be aware - puppy food has higher nutrition for growth; whereas, adult is more for maintenance.
