We recommend at least a 7 day transition before you begin feeding the new food exclusively. Start by mixing 75% of the old diet with 25% of the new diet on Day 1 and Day 2. On Day 3 and Day 4, mix 50% of the old diet with 50% of the new diet. On Day 5 and Day 6, mix 25% of the old diet with 75% of the new diet. On the 7th day, you can feed the new food exclusively. This allows your pet's digestive system to smoothly adapt to the new food.

Terrible Food!

Terrible list of ingredients! WHY would a company like this not put actual MEAT in their food? With the lead off #1 ingredient as chicken by-product meal? That is the most disgusting source of nutrition on the planet! And it is the cheapest thing dog food manufacturers put in dog food. I would NEVER feed this to my pups! Read the ingredients before you buy people who read this review! Stay AWAY unless they chasnge it out for the real chicken. Oh and BTW a lot of Jacks are ALLERGIC to chicken! I feed Lamb, bison, venison, or beef(NO POULTRY). If your Jack licks their paws in excess, they most likely are allergic to chicken.

I'm on my 4th bag of Royal Canin Jack Russell puppy food. I tried two other different brands of puppy food. This was my third. I thought by buying a breed specific food food that it would do the trick. To my suprise it did. My puppy dug in and gobbled it up. I'm keeping to this brand even when she reaches 10 months and we change to adult breed. Best choice ever!!!!!
