The Ring Alarm Pro (8 piece version) offers an excellent security system out of the box with an extremely easy guided installation process m - I was fully physically installed and up and running in 40 minutes. The system includes a remarkable router that boasts an array of cutting-edge features and would be a worthy purchase standalone from the security components - I am truly impressed with this piece! The router includes onboard battery backup and a cellular connection so even in cases of total and extended power loss situations your LAN will remain connected to the Internet. In testing I did find that the cellular speeds were on the slow side for 4G, but we have to respect that the backup connection would typically be employed in disaster scenarios so it is absolutely more than adequate for basic communication and information retrieval. The door/window sensors are extremely flexible to install and handled my doors’ intricate molding without a problem (I tested functional sensor gaps up to about and inch, which is extremely helpful for complex installations!). Likewise, the system’s response time to an opening is instant. The only negative I came to find is that when adding the system to an existing Eero mesh system it must be assigned as the primary gateway that is connected to your modem - and with this substitution I lost HomeKit security functionality. The Ring Pro router does manage my other mesh points properly and handles my gigabit connection without any degradation of speed or quality whatsoever. I highly recommend this setup for all home networks, including even complex ones such as mine; but have to note the minor HomeKit complications. Still, the offerings by this system outweigh and negatives and I would be proud to give it my full recommendation and support.

Easy installation and setup. Comes with base station, keypad, contact sensors, motion and range detectors. The app is easy to understand and allows for a sense of security while at home or away. I use this alarm system with my ring doorbell and outdoor cameras for added security. Definitely recommend.

This has been a game changer in our new home. It was one of the first purchases we made when we first moved. Moving to a new neighborhood and owning the home is quite different and this has made us feel much more secure. Much more affordable than other security systems out there

The 8 piece system is pretty basic, but I think I will add additional sensors and another keypad. The monitoring fee is very fair. I wish ring could add a glass-break sensor - then I would feel my home is completely covered.

I was glad it came with the range extender so the system reached to all the doors in my house. Alarms are loud and will certainly wake you up at night, if someone tries to get in!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I delayed installing this after getting the system as I was nervous about the level of tech experience necessary to install this. Fortunately, the setup was pretty easy. Getting the base station set up did take longer than expected (unit was connected to internet via Ethernet, so it should have been a no brainer), but it ultimately worked. After that, setting up the security elements was actually pretty easy, just followed the app instructions!

It is good for small dwellings, but if have larger space...has ability to add on and build out to your required spec. Set up was easy and fast and works as promised....great item

It's also nice how well it integrates with other Ring products we already own! And that it doesn't take a professional alarm company to install.
