The gate broke in two months and is now useless
I bought this gate: 1) because it is free standing, 2) to blend with our decor and 3) to block my dogs access to the front door. It does 1 and 2 well. Unfortunately, it broke after two months. The wooden and metal pieces are well constructed and finished. However, the plastic brackets that attach the side panels to the center piece, are not very strong and one broke while we were moving the gate for cleaning. This is a key component to holding the gate together. It's now useless

Dog gate
Nicely made gate. We have the longer version and decided to also get this gate to replace another brand that kept breaking.

Gate works well with normal dogs
Gate stands in place well. If it's an odd area, that the gate doesn't fit flush actress, and you have a persistent dog, they can push pay the gate. We had to add an extra gate we already had on one side to prevent them from getting by the gate.
The gate is made well, sturdy, and is very well constructed.
