Can we give a calcium supplement bought from the pet store for kittens ( 3months, 1.8kg,male mainecoon mix). It is tablet form with dosage for kittens.
Hi, I've been giving my dog a homemade diet since he was diagnosed with kidney disease and supplemented it with a little eggshell powder which acted as his calcium. The vet has now given a phosphate binder called ipakitine and in the ingredients it says it contains calcium carbonate. Do I stop giving the eggshell powder now as this ipakitine contains calcium? Thanks
Currently I am using calcium sand. It doesn’t seem to be effecting Ash at all. Should I continue to use the sand or get something else such as eco earth?
I don’t think my dog (a 11 lb 10 mo old Maltipom) is getting proper nutrition. Trying to feed human food or raw frozen/and dehydrated. Eats muscle meats ok, a few vegies, cheese, egg occasionally, a bit of raw milk and kefir. Doesn’t like raw bones either, so not much calcium. Would like to supplement her with calcium/magnesium, enzymes, fish and flax oils. Think good, or some others possibly? Thanks!
My 3 year old 23lb. male corgi has a history of developing cystine crystals in his urinary tract and was put on Hill's U/D canned food as a result. I have been reading online about alkaline diets and was wondering if we could prepare food for him at home that would be sufficient in preventing the formation of the cystine crystals. The food he is on currently is very expensive ($42-$46 every 12 days). How can we determine the correct amount of homemade food or his weight and breed?
Is there a good high calorie supplement, vitamin or food that I can offer my seed junkie parakeet? She scored a poor body condition, was described as thin at her exam. Currently taking Metacam for an ouchy foot.
Will higher calcium foods hurt a very active 2 yr old cat?
I adopted a sick Leopard Gecko from a local pet store. The pet store doesn't take good care of Leopard Geckos. They have dried Mealworms, no calcium, no humidity, and their all crowed in one hide. My Leopard Gecko Geo wasn't eating Mealworms or Crickets. She is underweight and her tail is skinny. I started to get concerned so I started syringe feeding her daily with ReptaBoost. Today I saw her throw up some of the mix. It looks like she was struggling to regurgitate. Also the humidity is high.
I am currently giving peaches cuttle fish bone power, in addition with the cuttle fish bone power is it o.k. to give her clay cal from higgins also, or egg food, egg food has suger in it is it safe to give to peaches? what is the best egg food for peaches?

Will excess calcium and vitamins affect his growth ? I want him to grow a little slow so that his bones will be stronger Or should, during growth period between 3 months to 6 months I will provide less protein puppy feed?
