My turtle shell is cracking red ear slider
My red footed tortoise has a shell fungal infection do the bottom of his shell is very soft. Is there anything I can to help get rid of the fungus.
I just got a three month old baby sulcata and he seems to have 3 small sores or lesions on his plastron. he's in a 40 gal tank with orchid bark. temps are 75-90 (gradient) and I soak him once a day. He has a UV light and is also getting calcium as every meal. I am overwhelmed with the abundance of misinformation I am finding on sulcata care. He eats dark leafy greens at the moment along with some grasses. He's not lethargic at all. Any ideas?
My tortoise has what appears to be fluids (red so probably blood) in between carapace and plastron. Closest thing I could find online to what it looks like was someone posting about their tortoise falling of a hide log and sustaining trauma, but my enclosure doesn't have anything to fall off of. It doesn't look like shell rot that I've seen before. About 2 weeks prior it started rubbing it's head on it's legs and it's skin seemed dry so I feed it more romain lettuce and soaked it a bit more.
Hi, my red foot tortoise has been very lethargic lately and his eyes have been staying closed. The only time he opens them is when I pick him up and that's only occasionally they will open or when I soak him in water and the usually does the trick. I've also noticed his shell is considerably soft, I dont know if thats because he is a hatchling though. Also I've noticed he looks to be bloating. Please help.
