We bought this within the last month and already the wood around the water bowl has mold. We have a staffy mix and water does dribble out of his mouth when he drinks. I would have expected a platform for dog food and water bowls would have been engineered and produced with water dribble in mind.

Great setup but needs some modifications. Needs drains holes drilled to prevent pooling of water on wood surface. Way better with some drain holes around the edges of the recessed circle the bowls sit in.

I bought this item a few months ago and just like other reviews on here I have the same issue with black mold growing from water. I don’t recommend buying this item

Like others have said, mould inevitably grows. It may not if you used dry food only, but if you plan on using one bowl for water your dog will splash water all over the wood surface, which will then get trapped under the bowls.

I bought this item because I really love the reddy brand! However, this was a miss. The wood creates black mold if it gets wet. Flawed design.

Looks great, works well but quality is so-so. I applied extra water-based water proofing as many people complained that the wood gets discolored / moldy. So far so good. Felt feet on the base were cockeyed so I removed them and applied my own. You wouldn't expect such QC issues with a $50 item.
