I adopted a very overweight dog. I am working on weight management and she has lost some weight but I'm concerned as she gobbles her food down literally in a minute. I just bought the puzzle bowl but she can only reach one morsel at a time using her tongue as she is a big dog. This doesn't seem right either but I don't know. It definitely slowed her eating. Advice please.
Are there specific purposes for a slow feed bowl other than to slow down a dogs eating? Does it help them digest their food better or help them in any specific way? For example my dog eats rather fast, will a slow feed bowl provide any additional benefits besides just slowing down her eating?
How do I know if I should switch to a slow feeder ? My dogs eat mildly fast ever since I switched over to a new dog food
Midnight just had his yearly check up and everything was good. I have noticed that he eats real fast and then throws up his food. So we got him a slow feeder bowl. It helped a little but once in a while he still eats too fast and throws it all up. What else can i do to help him slow down?
My dog does not want to eat from his metal bowl anymore, we bought him a plastic one and for a while he ate but now he stop again. We got him a porcelain and still not eating. And my husband has feed him his soft food with a fork but he would not eat his hard food.
My dog will hardly eat from her bowl, which is a basic metal food bowl. But she will scarf down her food from my hands or from my roommate’s dog’s bowl, which is a black plastic, less reflective bowl. I’m worried about how much she eats in a day. Should I get her a different bowl? Or just wait till she’s more comfortable? I’ve only had her for about a month. She also tucks her tail and cowers the whole time she is eating. She is a rescue so I’m not sure what the history is there.
I bought a slow feeder from the pet store to slow down my cat's eating but she is barely eating and she will walk away from the dish. I don't know what to do if I go back to feeding her like I was she will gorge on her food and then throw it up. How can I get her to start eating more from the slow feeder?
Our 7 month old puppy used to scarf her meals so fast, so we got a slow-feeder bowl. The last week or so, she has turned into a grazer and only eats a bite, then comes to find us in the house, hangs out a bit, goes for another bite, comes to find us, etc. We've tried standing in the kitchen while she eats, but it doesn't seem to help. Is this just growing up and her eating style has changed, is it the teenage years and she's testing us, or is she just bored of her food? Thank you in advance!
I just bought my dog a new food bowl. this is one is elevated since she is getting taller and it’s the perfect height for her . But she’s gone over to the bowl a few times since it’s her feeding time and she keeps prancing and whimpering really loud at the bowl.
My puppy loves to run while eating. Sometimes he pauses and coughs because he’s being too energetic. I bought him a slow feeding bowl but he just gets aggrevated and tosses it or doesn’t eat at all. How can I get him to either adjust to his new bowl or eat calmly?
What is the best dog bowl material that is non toxic, going to stay clean, not get a film at the bottom and not harbor bacteria?
What is the best feeding mechanism to put the dog's meal for 15-30 min then take it or leave it all the day for the dog to eat as she want?
