The Red Mandarin is a vibrant, unique bottom dweller. They are reef safe and should be housed in aquariums with rockwork and sand beds. The live rock and sand act as a refuge for the copepods the Red Mandarin will feed on. These fish eat very slowly and will be out competed for food if kept in densely populated aquariums, so feeding multiple times a day is beneficial. It takes time and patience to get mandarins to eat frozen or pelletized foods. Try starting on live foods like baby brine shrimp and copepods then segueing to rotifers, prawn eggs and other small nutritious foods. They have a small adult size of about 3" and are a great candidate for smaller aquariums. They are truly a work of art with a very detailed pattern of blues, greens, reds and oranges. The Red Mandarin does display sexual dimorphism, where the males are more colorful and have an elongated dorsal fin, while the females' dorsal fin is short and smaller.

What type of saltwater fish can I have in a 10 gallon tank
Hey so I currently have a spear 200 litre tank since I moved my Goldfish to a 500 litre tank. I used to breed guppies and I want to do it again, so I was thinking of filling my 200 litre tank with guppies my question is how many guppies will fit in the 200 litre tank, thx
Looking for some cool fishes to accompany a goldfish in a 5 gallon tank. Please help Jameson (my fish) beat his case of loneliness!! We appreciate the weird and quirky looking ones! Help!
How to increase colour deep red and yellow citation of red blood parrot fish and yellow parrot fish ? And how far shyness of red blood parrot fish ?
My Powder Blue Dwarf Gourami, Is twiching and i really don't know what to do i think its ammonia.
We recently bought a Betta from a chain store pet shop. He is currently in a 10 gallon tank with a heater. He’s been eating and swimming around, acting fine. The first day we had him I noticed this bump. (Didn’t notice in the petstore but hard to see in those cups they keep them in) Here’s a side shot. Looks like one tiny fluid filled bump, size of a scale. Any ideas?
Two of our freshwater fish are acting oddly in the water. We did lose a few last night, due to an ammonia spike. We noticed some pale-colored, wormlike flesh dropping from the front area (between the mouth and front fins); this black Guppy is “wobbling” around... We also have an orange Molly fish that has been staying on the bottom, not eating or moving much. Attached are pics, for your review. Can you please provide advice for these issues, we want to try our best to save them!
What types of plants are suitable for a 24L tank with 2x shrimp, 3x snails, 2x Platies, 5x danios?
A female(?) Molly fish with swollen belly, isolated from the other fish in the tank. Had for approximately 17 days.
Hello! A week ago I adopted a betta from a local aquarium store. The tank setup I have is a 10gal filtered and heated tank (79f-80f) at 6.8-7ph with a few Marimo moss balls and this single fish. He's very active. I noticed that he has one eye bigger than the other and I'm afraid it is popeye. Does this look like popeye? I believe he looked this way when I got him. There is no cloudiness but his left eye is bigger than the other. I did a 30% water change yesterday. what do I do?
Is a 20 gallon tank fine for an 9 month map turtle? Do I need a bigger tank? Thanks!
