Goldfish are a great starter fish to recommend for ponds and aquariums. The Sarasa Comet Goldfish have a longer and sleeker body compared to fancy goldfish. Their body has patterns of bright red and white that vary greatly. Hobbyists love comets because their patterns are always unique and have a cheaper price point compared to koi. Like most goldfish, the Sarasa Comets will get quite large and will need a large aquarium or pond when fully grown. They are considered diggers, so use caution when adding plants because they can get uprooted and eaten. Use large rocks to help keep the plants anchored down. Sarasa Comets are very hardy and will eat almost any pellet or flake that you offer, but be sure the food has vegetable foods in it. Freshwater food with vegetables will help prevent swim bladder problems.

ACCLIMATION: Avoid exposing new aquatic life to bright lights after opening the box. Turn off aquarium lights prior to floating aquatic life. Allow the sealed bag with your new fish to float in your aquarium for at least 15 minutes (but no longer than one hour) to ensure the water in the bag matches the temperature in your aquarium. A bacteria booster addition can assist with the addition of new aquatic life. Petco offers free water testing in store to determine if your water is safe for the addition of new aquatic life. DIET: A well-balanced diet consists of a variety of flakes, pellets, freeze-dried and frozen foods, depending on the species. FEEDING: Feed sparingly and no more than fish can eat in 1-2 minutes. Overfeeding can quickly foul the water, especially in smaller aquariums.

My goldfish has red spots on it. Is it a bacterial infection or a fungal infection and what can I use to treat him ?
My goldfish has a blood spot in between its eyes , what does that mean, is it a disease?
My goldfish is covered in red splotches and has two large white fuzzy bulbs on the top of its head. Also there appears to be long stringy things attached to its body. My fish does not swim to the top of the tank when fed, eats less, and is lethargic. My fish also has difficulty swimming because he floats to the top of the tank. It has had the red splotches before and I’ve treated it with antibacterial/fungal drops and the splotches cleared up.
My goldfish is losing its colour, it gets lots of sunlight (but not too much) and have regular clean outs of the tank. The other goldfish is sticking to its colour
