Should I purchase a water fountain for my dog? She does drink on her own several times a day. But that sounds like a good idea. Does it really encourage them to drink more water? Is it easy to clean? I currently like to wash my dogs water bowl daily with warm water and soap. Would this be doable with a water fountain? thanks!
I bought a water fountain for my dog but she doesn’t seem to realize it’s ok to drink from it. She seems to me slight afraid of it. What can I do?
Hello. Concerned for my puppy. Doesn’t seem to drink much water. He’s 17 weeks and has not been sick. Eats his dry food well and very playful and gets nice walks. Found him 10 days ago and had first round of shots last Wednesday. Today got warmed at petco. He’s terrier maybe beagle mix. Let’s just say it seems he drinks a cup or two a day. And that’s a maybe. Pulling up skin and definitely seems dehydrated. He will drink when I ask sometimes. How can I encourage him to drink more thank you
Dear Sir, Is there any formulation to calculate healty dog AVERAGE daily drinking water requirement??? (I have yorkshire terrier 5 years old, 3 kg. I am not sure that its water drinking is enough)
How much water should a 20lb dog drink daily? My pup has been going wicked long without peeing and I am worrying that he is not drinking enough. Tips for increasing water consumption too?
22# poodle/dachshund nearly 9yo male. often urinates copiously (30 sec or so at a time). seems a lot. how much is too much? will spread it out during walks of length but short trip outside and often urinates clear urine for what seems long time
My dog drinks from her water bowl several times per day. (Usually after her meals and her walk.) is she getting enough water do you think? I don't know how to measure how much she's drinking because my family has three dogs at home. Would a pet water fountain help her drink more? Should I add 1/2 cup of water to her dry food at each meal, or is this overkill? Thanks!
Thank you destini for all your helpful answers! This is so informative! Do dogs have a preference of still water or a water fountain? Just curious, Thanks!
Hi there! My 11-12 year old terrier mix drinks a lot of water. Is it normal for an older dog to do that? He is the same weight he's always been 12 lbs. and still has good energy for his age. He eats Purina Pro Plan and his appetite is normal, but in the morning, or anytime he goes for his water bowl, it like he's been without water for days. He drinks it voraciously. Thank you for the info.
My 7 week lab puppy seems to not be able to get enough water. Today he has had 11 oz, but goes crazy at his empty dish or licks rain water. If I were to give him more water now he would drink so fast like he hadn't had water in days. Is this normal?
I'm sorry the site wouldn't let me submit my puppy information. I have an 2 month puppy mixed breed havanese & Chihuahua. I usually leave a bowl of cool water out but he refuses to drink it, so i went and got a training water bottle and he still refusing to drink it.
I have a pomeranian dog, he is 10.5 years old. I just notice that he suddenly drink a lot of water at night (more than usual/ during the day) before he go to bed (around 8pm). I know that the weather is getting warmer lately, but I am concern that theres something wrong with his health. Can you please help me?
