This product not only does what it's supposed to do, it does more. There's so much innovation and attention to detail here (e.g., brass faucet fitting is threaded inside and outside to fit different sizes). Design is perfect. During a water change, it will empty water from the tank, re-fill with fresh water, then empties the 50' hose on the same principle with the same set up. Delightful to see and use.

Love it, I literally have to do nothing while water travels from or to a tank, just sit there and watch unlike how it used to be with carrying buckets. Was a little confusing at first though, so I recommend watching their instructional video over and over until all is understood.

I’m sure you COULD, but its a bit big for that in my opinion. I use a regular syphon for my small tanks and use my python for my big tanks.

Does the water from faucet has to be on all the time while draining the tank water?

Once the suction has started, it will continue going, although slower. You need to have the faucet on for stronger suction for gravel cleaning.

Can I use this with sand substrate? Or will it get sucked in to the tube?

You can use this with sand or gravel substrate, the substrate doesn’t get sucked in but it cleans the substrate by suctioning up the debris.
