Is Purina Proplan wet food ok for my cat, he has stage 2 kidney disease and pancreatitis?
best food senior dog urinary problems no grain?
Noticed 12 yr. F. Lab Retriever having trouble releasing urine. Visit to vet for vaccine, felt dogs tummy and suggested ultra sound. Suggested immediate surgery because many stones seen. After surgery said most stones ever seen. I saw them, 15 lbs of stones. Says needs to be on Royal Canine Urinary SO dog food for life. She is not tolerating more than 1/2 her food being this food. Am mixing with her old food Blue Buffalo Senior. Now suggesting other Brand. Need special food for life?
My dog has a history of urinary infections so is permanently on a diet of Hills UD wet food but I've run out and the tins are out of stock everywhere?
My male cat has to get off of orijen and should only eat a wet food to prevent urinary blockage and promote urinary health. The vet recommended s/d feline but are there other canned wet food brands that are good for preventing urinary issues and crystal that do not have wheat, corn, soy or by products? And what is the daily serving of wet food for a 12 lb cat?
My dog, who is a 7 year old Shih tzu, was urinating a lot. Turns out she has crystals in her urine & it has a pH=8, but no bacteria & her kidneys are fine. The vet put her on a prescription food permanently (PurinaProPlan Veterinary Diets UR) to remove minerals. After trying for a few days, she finally ate it for about 4 day & now won't eat it at all (+ watery stool). Is there human food compatible w/ her new diet (won't add to the problem) I can give her/cook until we make it back to the vet?
My cat was almost two he was diagnosed w/FLUTD and had crystals in his urine. He had a perineal urethrostomy after being diagnosed. He was originally on hills science c/d and s/d but that became very expensive. He has been one Purina One urinary tract health dry food for about 1.5 years and has had no urinating issues. I want him to lose weight (18lbs) & don't know if his wet food should be urinary or weight loss focused and what his dry food should focus on since I'm doing a mixed diet.
My 2 yo Lab/Ridgeback is 86 lbs yes overweight and has a urine ph of 5. I have her on grain free Taste of the Wild venison/buffalo 2.5 cups daily. Without spending $80.00 for a 17 lb bag of Royal Canin So , what dry food or treatments might you recommend for Rylee?
What is the ingredient in "royal canine veterinary diet canine urinary so" that makes it a Rx? I cannot find anything as to why you need an Rx for this food. My dog is currently on it and it is making her urinate more often but what in it is making her do that?
My cat has been on Purina One Urinary tract Health dry good for 10 years which has kept his problem under control all these years. Recently he has been having trouble with constipation and I would like to try canned cat food with him. Which is a safe one for him to eat that will not cause a Urinary tract issue 28th the crystals again?
Trying to get my elder cat to eat a senior diet lower in phosphorus for less stress on kidneys!Tried royal canin aging 12+, hills science 7+& 11+, Purina pro plan 11+..he really doesn't like any of them. The one he likes most is the pro plan but it has the most phosphorus of them all at 1.54% dry matter. any other suggestions?I've tried some senior rx diets too that he won't stick with. I know any food is best for his kidneys of course than no food but I just want to get him on a proper food. Thx
what is the best non prescription dog food to give a dog who has been on royal canin urinary tract food her entire life and does not like it. she had urinary infections when i first got her no problems now and she is 7 years old
