Questions
What is the consistency - pate or stew-like? Can unopened cans be returned if the cat won't eat it?
- This is a pate. According to my vet, because the advanced care has less protein than the early care wet food, some kitties don’t enjoy it as much. My cat likes it just fine. I can’t speak to Petco’s policy but another pet store chain credited me for a case of wet food that she wouldn’t eat. They asked me to donate the case to charity rather than return it.

my 12 year old cat was recently diagnosed with early stages of kidney disease. i had her eating the dry food from Hills K/D and she was ok with that. Then i moved her to the wet food because she stopped eating the dry. now she’ll eat the wet food for a day or so and then refuses. the only food she never misses a meal is fancy feast pate and blue buffalo healthy gourmet pate. i know commercial food isn’t great, but are either of these foods near the percentile a kidney cat needs?
My 15 year old cat has stage 2 kidney disease. She shows no changes in her personality or daily habits. She will not eat any of the renal wet prescription diet food that our vet has suggested. What would be the best brand of store shelf wet food for her? I have been reading labels for high protein and moisture, good Omega 3, low phosphorus and alot of brands seem to be about the same. She is a fussy eater.

I have an older cat 15 years old female and drinking less than normal water that I change daily and constipated and have switched to dry food with no grains and one small can of wet per day. Looking for constipation solution when more water not an option.
my 8 year old cat does not drink much water. I changed her to wet Pro Plan Urinary food as suggested by the vet. She uses the poop box. But I have noticed her appetite is less and she lays around a lot more. I am worried about diabetes even though she does not have the obvious symptoms. Hi! Tony has been eating wet/canned royal canin aging 12+ , he’s 18 years old , and I wanted an opinion on this food as far as senior diets go. My vet had me try rx veterinary hills g/d canned food but he didn’t like it. is the aging 12+ a good senior diet option for a food lower in phosphorus and sodium? Thx!
One of the many options I have considered for my senior cat with FLUTD is giving him an all canned food diet. He currently eats dry food and some wet. When I look at the can, the feeding suggestions state 1 can per 2.5 pounds. So that would be about 4 cans. He’s lucky to finish an entire can in a day. Does this indicate that a canned diet might not be best or do some cats eat less than than that suggestion or because he has dry too? I’ve only ever gave cats dry food so this all new to me. Thanks
