Which dry food is best for an indoor, seven year old cat, low in calories?
My male cat is almost 14. I know he is starting kidney problems due to the extra water he drinks at this point. and a bit thinner. lots of energy still. I read they need at least 50% protein, I give him wet and dry which i know is not good, but lots of wet and freeze dried chicken too, vit with dig enzymes. Can you suggest the best Wet high protein food and anything else from Petco?
Our 1 1/2 year old female ragdoll feline started loosing patches of fur for last 2 weeks. No scabs/raw spots on skin. Vetinarian concludes not fleas or ringworm. No known environmental changes or new house products. Now starting Royal Canin Hydrolyzed Protein Adult HP for 2-3 weeks in case it's food allergies. It's $50 for 7.7 lbs. Is there a less expensive equivalent Purina or other brand?? Thanks from Florida.
My cat is ten yrs old and recently diagnosed with diabetes I give her 1 unit of insulin 2 times a day the food they gave me she will not eat!! So I'm thinking to put her on Fancy Feast she lost 6lbs and she needs something that appeals to her so I'm wondering if that is an ok food for her ???

Best low-carb wet food for cats?
My cat was almost two he was diagnosed w/FLUTD and had crystals in his urine. He had a perineal urethrostomy after being diagnosed. He was originally on hills science c/d and s/d but that became very expensive. He has been one Purina One urinary tract health dry food for about 1.5 years and has had no urinating issues. I want him to lose weight (18lbs) & don't know if his wet food should be urinary or weight loss focused and what his dry food should focus on since I'm doing a mixed diet.
We have 1 1/2yr old Ragdoll female. At a steady 8.6 pounds/small frame. Area in front of back legs seems a little skinny. A couple of internet sites seems to suggest IAMS Proactive Health, Healthy Kittens is ok for adults to gain weight in view of it's extra protein and fat. Is that ok for 8.6 lb female.

What would be the best brand of store shelf wet food for her? I have been reading labels for high protein and moisture, good Omega 3, low phosphorus and alot of brands seem to be about the same. my 8 year old cat does not drink much water. I changed her to wet Pro Plan Urinary food as suggested by the vet. She uses the poop box. But I have noticed her appetite is less and she lays around a lot more. I am worried about diabetes even though she does not have the obvious symptoms. Was treated for urinary tract problem but vet did not test her urine just prescribed antibiotic. Any suggestions?
