CrazyPittieandFrenchieMom

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently switched my 8 month old Frenchie puppy to this because the Royal Canine was crap. This has way better ingredients

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Pro Plan keeps my dog healthyI’ve been feeding my dog Pro Plan and he’s thriving—great energy, shiny coat, and solid health. My only wish is for a bit more flavor to keep mealtime exciting!

My pup was eating this food fine from 3 mths to about 7 months when she started to loose interesting in eating her food. This disinterest went on for about a week and then I said something else is going on. Read recent reviews and it appears I’m not the only one and some said the formula changed? I picked up Hills Pet Nutrition’s comparable formula and she immediately ate. Sometimes this happens with dogs but I wonder if Purina has a budding issue on their hands.

Perfect food for our pup!

We got our pug puppy four weeks ago at the age of ten weeks. The food the breeder wanted us to feed him was cheap. Very cheap. We did some research and decided this Pro Plan Salmon and Rice Puppy food was what we were looking for. Our puppy loves it. Really loves it. And he’s thriving. Our vet says he’s at the perfect weight for his age and is extremely healthy and happy. In a year we will switch to the Adult formula of this specific Pro Plan. I highly recommend this food! It’s done wonders for our little boy!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Only food that my boxer puppy can eat without throwing up! My vet recommended it and he has been eating it without any issues.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Switched to this because it’s one of the only high quality chicken-free puppy foods I could find. My dog loves it but since switching to this about 5 months ago he eats his poop (which he never did before) and has very brittle nails. It makes me think he may be missing something from this food. Going to try a different brand and see if it makes any difference

Is this good for 4 months French bulldog?

is the pro plan salmon and rice sensitive puppy food appropriate to feed to my 3lb toy poodle puppy?  She's scratching and I need to change her current kibble.  thanks

    1. Yes, the kibble is small enough for her to consume. Just keep close eye out to make sure she’s not allergic to that as well. I used for my Olde English Bulldogges, worked well until it didn’t. I now feed them human food. If your pockets are stacked, try Royal Canine. No allergic reaction, just pricey and it has dog specific food. Hope I helped a little.

Isn't his dog fiod good for a Jack Russell? He is on the shredded chicken and rice and I was thinking of switching to the sensitive skin formula salmon and rice. I'd appreciate any feedback! Thank you!

    1. I fed it to my golden retriever & border collie before that. No issues and vet was good with it. Only downside, my GR has sensitive stomach so have to be really consistent with what he eats, and I’ve had times when the PPP was out of stock retail & online.

Does this kibble have like white flakes on it and small black dots on it? Worried I got another bad batch I’ve had to return bags twice now in the past few days. Please let me know just want to make sure the kibble looks the way it’s supposed to this time

    1. White specks are the bits of rice

My 7 month old Shihpoo has reflux, and vomits a little occasionally, would this be a good food for her. The vet recommended the brand but nothing specific. Thanks

    1. We're sorry to hear your Shihpoo had reflux and hopefully is feeling better now. We apologize for the delay in our response and kindly ask that you call us directly for the best assistance. We'll need to know a bit more about your sweet dog before we could suggest a specific formula. Please call us at 800-776-7526 (800-PROPLAN) when you have the time. We're available Monday through Saturday from 8 AM – 5 PM CST. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We look forward to speaking with you soon. - The Pro Plan Team.

Are the recommended feeding amounts per day or per feeding?

    1. They do list the recommended feeding amount on the bag. Petco displays it on 4th picture of the item.

How do I reseal the 24lb bag to make it airtight once we have opened it?

    1. Thank you for asking! When possible, we recommend storing food in the original bag and within a plastic or metal bin with lid. Ideally, food should be consumed within 5-6 weeks from when opening the bag to ensure freshness. We hope this helps! - The Purina Pro Plan Team

How good is this food for a puppy with dry skin?

    1. Thanks for reaching out to us! Our formula contains Omega-6 fatty acids and vitamin A to nourish skin and coat. With any changes in diet, we recommend consulting your trusted veterinarian. - The Pro Plan Team

How many cups are in a 24-lb bag of pro plan salmon and rice sensitive puppy food ?

    1. Thanks for asking. While our Pro Plan formulas' volume and weight can differ from formula to formula, we can estimate that there is about 97 cups of food within a 24-lb bag of our Pro Plan Sensitive Skin & Stomach Salmon & Rice Puppy food. - The Pro Plan Team

How much should I feed to my 9-month old, 55 lb Catahoula mix dogs.?

    1. Thanks for reaching out to us. Our feeding guidelines are by weight at maturity, not current weight. We recommend speaking to a trusted veterinarian to find out your dog's expected weight. If you have any further questions, please give us a call at 1- 877-982-4357. We're available seven days a week from 8AM - 5PM CST. – The Pro Plan Team
