How much should I be giving my cat? He should be around 13.5 lb but is about 15 right now. We feed him 2x a day
- Every P is different. Some have faster metabolism then others. Start with the recommended feeding amount that is on the bag and tailor it to meet your cats needs. Weigh him weekly. If he is dropping weight too fast, then add a little more to his meals. If he is not loosing weight at all, then cut back on the amount.

I recently switched my cat to Hill's Science Diet Weight Management and her feces is now very dry and hard. Is Purina Pro Plan Focus Weight Management easier on digestion?
- Three of my cats have been on a daily diet of the Pro Plan Weight Management dry food for several years. I did not notice any negative change in their digestion once I started them on the Pro Plan. I do add wet food to their regimen for extra moisture.

Which dry food is best for an indoor, seven year old cat, low in calories?
Hi there. I was thinking about switching my cat to a better quality food. I know the first at least 3 ingredients should be chicken, chicken meal etc vs corn or grains. My cat is 20lbs. Vet told me he should be 16lbs & be on a low fat diet. I don't think his purina pro plan weight mgmt is helping anymore. Fat is 12.5% max in that food. But other foods have more fat. I wonder if a grain free diet would help keep him full longer? How many calories/cups a day he should eat? Worried about weightgain
What is the best dry food for allergies and weight control?
We have 1 1/2yr old Ragdoll female. At a steady 8.6 pounds/small frame. Area in front of back legs seems a little skinny. A couple of internet sites seems to suggest IAMS Proactive Health, Healthy Kittens is ok for adults to gain weight in view of it's extra protein and fat. Is that ok for 8.6 lb female.

Best low-carb wet food for cats?
After cat fight & treated at vet with Covina, rabies, anti inflam shot, my indoor/outdoor cat recovered indoors for 3 weeks. He started going outside again in a limited way. He gained weight. About 2-3 pounds. He is getting a tummy. Pics attached. His diet (per day) is free eating Hills Science dry perfect weight chicken, 2 to 2.5 (3oz cans fancy feast, (about 1/2 can at a time when he requests) & occasionally cooked chicken meat. Any suggestions how to loose weight / diet ? Thanks
My cat is a 10 year old male who used to eat mostly store brand wet food. The vet found crystals in his urine and prescribed him dry prescription food for urinary care. He’s very long and it was recommended that his weight should be about 12 lbs. A year ago he was 14 lbs, and since switching to this all dry diet, he’s up to 15.5 lbs after a year. I’m increasingly worried about his weight. Is it ok to feed him a combination of wet and dry food for urinary care AND weight loss of the same brand?

My (very tall and muscular!!) Miniature Schnauzer needs to lose about 3 pounds. Prescription Royal Canin didn't carry enough sustanance for him, so he was constantly hungry. I got him on ProPlan weight control kibble, but I'm always concerned with his micronutrients. He got a bought of pancreatitis once, so crude fat must be low. How do you feel about these fresh dog foods? Better than kibble? Or not, so due to the moisture percentage?
Scrappy has been eating Purina Pro Plan Simply Fit, eating 1/2C, twice a day. He started at 22 pounds and kept that on for 4 weeks, today, he has lost 3 pounds at the end of his 5th week. He does not look as if he lost, but he looks more like a dog that has been lifting weights and related to a Boxer. He is a mix poodle/cocker. Is it too much protein, should I continue and give him less, he is a good eater and always hungry. I have a tough time with those "I'm hungry Mom" looks. Thank you.
