I am considering transitioning my puppy from hills science to merrick grain free dry dog food. Is merrick a good brand? What are the benefits of grain free dry dog food? What are the differences in feeding a dog salmon Vs chicken vs lamb vs duck?
I am getting an 8 week Cocker Spaniel. I am not new to Cocker Spaniel, just puppy versions. I want to try a new food for her, and need suggestions. I did research & came across these dry foods: Merrick Grain Free Real Salmon+Sweet Potato, Merrick Limited Ingredient Grain Free Real Salmon+Sweet Potato, Taste of Wild Pacific Stream Grain Free Smoked Salmon, Taste of Wild Appalachian Valley Small Bree’s Grain after Roasted Venison. Are any of those good, if so which one? Want to stay chicken free.
My dog 4 months old gets diarrhea from eating Merrick real lamb wet a tablespoon ( limited diet) and Merrick salmon dry. But when I gave him pasta and mashed potatoes for 2 days very little diarrhea left and bi gas and no stomach churning and noises? Any suggestions? He is a cane corso Labrador mix
I'm trying to find a good nutritional dog food to feed my pet ! I don't want all that garbage food !! My friend gave me some of her food that she feeds her dig , it's call Bill Jac, it says it's made with 5lbs of chicken for a 6lb bag !! But it's all chicken organs only !! Is that safe for a dig to eat !! I'm lost as to what good dog foods are out there , any help would be greatly appreciated , thank you !!! Sandra Stephens
I have 2 overweight dogs, a 2yr old chihuahua(9lbs) and a 12yr old shih tzu(20lbs). We have always fed them kibbles and bits dry dog food with alpo wet dog food.Last week I went out and bought merrik healthy weight, only feeding them this dry food now. Normally at dinner time they eat all of their food in one sitting. With the new food they don’t eat it until later and do not eat the entire daily recommendation because they do not like the new food.Is this okay or do I need to find food they like
My Name Is Marc. I have a border Collie/Lab. And she is a very very picky eater. I gave her merrick chicken and sweet potato for awhile and she got tired of it. I changed the flavor to venison and chick peas. at first she was ok with not to crazy. My dog got sick with a ear infection and the only way she would eat it is with wet food mixed in thats because she was in paiun.iif i just put the dry kibble down she will not eat it. Its becoming expensive to keep buying wet. Should i changed brands?
My parents have a 15 yr old Lab & a 7yr old German Shepard/Pit mix. Both have been used to table scraps mixed with their dry food. Mom's idea. I'm trying to feed them strictly DRY food now. They don't want to eat. Plse give me at least 2-3 choices of DRY food they will eat. More healthy, tasty for them. Does GRAIN FREE help? I've tried Pedigree, Pure Bal.,Fresh Pet, Gravy Train, Kibbles & Bits. I want them healthy but happy & eating too! Plse help me find a healthy, tasty, solution!
Is canidae grain free pure elements (lamb, turkey & chicken) canned food good for marcelino? I want to give him the best canned food possible thank you
I am thinking about switching my dogs food to royal Cain. I have all 3 of my dogs on Merricks right now. One of my dogs is over weight
I have a 5 year old, 75lb Catahoula leopard mix. He doesn't seem to like any dog food. Ever since he had a liver issue a year ago, he's been weird with eating. Before he would gulp his food down. He also seems to have a sensitive stomach now. I've tried merrick LI with goats milk and crumpled treats on top. It worked at first very well but now he doesn't want it. I've tried a different, more palatable, Elm in 3 flavors-lamb duck and salmon. Doesn't want any of them. Warm water doesn't work ether
We currently feed Rex Merrick brand salmon and sweet potato dry and he has had no problems with it but had read something that Purina had bought Merrick and there is some question about the now quality of the food that they may have changed the ingredients. Do you have any information about the quality decreasing or a reason we should change foods? Or have a brand you recommend as a back up option?
I read that grain free foods are leading to heart disease. We feed our dog Merrick Grain Free. What to do?
