[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] There are numerous treat-like products out there that claim to "clean" pets' teeth; however, many of them contain ingredients that have limited efficacy against matrix-forming bacteria, and little brushing action. When dogs bite into a DentaLife treat, friction between the treat and the surface of the tooth actually removes some food particles and film. Hillspet came up with this technology in the mid-1990's, and it was used in the T/D--Tartar Diet--veterinary diet. I can tell you from experience that this type of dental treat is significantly more effective than others Eventually, you will have to have your pet's teeth cleaned by a professional, but feeding this sort of treat can help lessen the number of visits in dogs with, otherwise, normal dentition.
