Changes in your cat's diet should be made gradually to allow your cat to become accustomed to a new food. Substitute small amounts of the new food for the old food, gradually increasing the amount of the new food while decreasing the old food, over a period of 7 - 10 days. This gradual transition will help avoid dietary upsets. Provide adequate fresh water in a clean container daily. For your pet's health, see your veterinarian regularly.

Which dry food is best for an indoor, seven year old cat, low in calories?
After cat fight & treated at vet with Covina, rabies, anti inflam shot, my indoor/outdoor cat recovered indoors for 3 weeks. He started going outside again in a limited way. He gained weight. About 2-3 pounds. He is getting a tummy. Pics attached. His diet (per day) is free eating Hills Science dry perfect weight chicken, 2 to 2.5 (3oz cans fancy feast, (about 1/2 can at a time when he requests) & occasionally cooked chicken meat. Any suggestions how to loose weight / diet ? Thanks
How much does my cat weigh
We have 1 1/2yr old Ragdoll female. At a steady 8.6 pounds/small frame. Area in front of back legs seems a little skinny. A couple of internet sites seems to suggest IAMS Proactive Health, Healthy Kittens is ok for adults to gain weight in view of it's extra protein and fat. Is that ok for 8.6 lb female.
Hello,my cat initially weighed 16 lbs upon adopting. Now she is 17.6 lbs. Her current diet is Blue Buffalo Nature's Evolutionary Diet Chicken, it is rated as 410 kcals/cup. We have been feeding her 3/4 of a cup (recommended for 14lb cat) with some treats. She is an indoor cat with no known medical issues. On average we try to exercise her ~15 minutes each day but lately she hasn't been as interested with her toys. We are considering lowering her food to 1/2 cup
At his last vet visit I was informed that Aquiylan is slightly overweight and it was suggested that I find either a high fiber or a weight management food for him. The best option I can find is a combo hairball& weight management. He's never had a problem with hairball however. Is it likely to mess him up if I switch him gradually? (Or if you could recommend a good food. He has a rather active life playing with the puppy and is currently on friskies indoor formula)
My kitty is getting fat. He eats blue buffalo food. What's a good food to switch him to to help with weight management?
I have 2 cats, one that I try to keep in the house most of the time one (the older one, the younger one is almost a year old) the younger one sheds very bad & gets hairballs pretty regularly I have been wanting to switch them to a hairball formula dry cat food but while researching which one it sounds like it's not health for them, they used to be on regular Kit & Kabboodle & I switched them to regular Meow Mix, can you tell Mr if either of these is healthy enough (I understand the younger one c
My cat is almost 2 years old and at his most recent vet checkup, he weighed in at about 16 pounds. At the appt the vet never mentioned anything about it so I didn’t pursue it. He is very energetic, playful, and otherwise healthy. He gets a 1/2 cup of dry food (taste of the wild) in the morning and 1/2 can of wet food (fancy feast) at night. The dry food stays out all day and gets replenished before bed daily. Is there any recommendations on what to do to encourage a healthy weight loss?
Hi there. I was thinking about switching my cat to a better quality food. I know the first at least 3 ingredients should be chicken, chicken meal etc vs corn or grains. My cat is 20lbs. Vet told me he should be 16lbs & be on a low fat diet. I don't think his purina pro plan weight mgmt is helping anymore. Fat is 12.5% max in that food. But other foods have more fat. I wonder if a grain free diet would help keep him full longer? How many calories/cups a day he should eat? Worried about weightgain
Since I am home all the time. My kitty's gaining the lbs quickly. How much food should a 2 year old fixed mail indoor cat eat. Thanks
