A little more Stability

My huge tank has one huge fish in it---over the past 17 years it GREW! Keeping the pH stable is a challenge and this isn't perfect but it really helps until I can manage the 120 gallon tank of my dreams. The weekly water changes and tons of Neutral Regulator weren't quite hacking it. This makes the difference.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Is this safe for Turtles and Gars?

  1. I would assume so, since it tends to raise the Ph of the water. Don't know for sure, but it did keep my gar happy for years until he jumped in a hail storm. I have a 75gal. tank with an overgrown koi in it and it keeps the Ph under control enough so I only need to do a 50% water change once a week. For me, that's huge, but so is my koi.

Do you have to wash it first? No directions on package plz help

  1. It doesn't really matter. You WILL need to rinse filter media and HOB/Canister Filter afterwards. No need to replace filter media.

is this ok to use with live plants

Does it matter if it's African or South American Cichlids?

    1. No, it does not matter.

Are these okay for Betta fish?

    1. Slate is a pretty much inert rock and as such should be safe for a Betta. Seeing as these are tumbled there are also no sharp edges for a fish to injure themselves on.
