I ordered this cage since my local petco didn't have it in stock. Thankfully it was on sale and shipping was free! This cage is way too small for my needs. Had I know the dimensions beforehand, I never would have bought it. I'm wanting to get rats or mice. This cage is too small for rats and the wire spacing I feel is too wide and flimsy for mice. I think this cage might work for hamsters. Also, the house is made of plastic. Overall, this cage is much cheaper in quality than I was expecting. But, for a first time hamster owner, I think it would suffice.

No, I do not recommend this product.

        Hello. Syrian hamsters can typically reach anywhere from 4 to 7 inches long when fully grown with the males at the higher end of the range in length.
