Can I get prednisone for my dog without taking him to the vet
My male cat has been prescribed antibotics and prednsione for broncitis. He is 16 lbs, is 5 mg of predisone a small dose? And giving this pill. 2 doses a day for 7 days then one doses a day for 7 days then one doses once every other day for 7 days a okay thing? Is this going to cause terrible side effects
Our dog has been taking Prednisone for an allergic reaction that she occasionally has. She winds up needing it about once every three months we have been having to go to the vet and pay for an appointment and also pay for the medication each time. Is it possible to get it here cheaper?
Hello, my now 30lbs puppy has been on Prednisone for about 4 weeks for puppy strangles. It was 20 mg per day but at his appointment yesterday the taper was started, and the dose was bumped up to 30mg as he has grown since initial dosing. We were told to now start giving 30mg every other day for three more weeks and then we can stop. This does not seem like much of a taper to me? Any thoughts as to if the dose or frequency should further be reduced over the next 3 weeks? Thanks!
Gave my dog who weighs between 8 and 10 lbs 2.5 mg of prednisone, the prescription is old and I can't see if it says to give her 2.5 twice daily for inflamed joint pain and arthritis pain. I did give her a regular dose this morning and it helped but I can tell she is in pain again tonight, don't know if I should give it to her every 12 hours or every 24 hours. The vet we use to go to is no longer there and no other vet will tell me. I don't have the money for a vet visit Help !!
RE: 13 # cat is given a 2 ml twice a day dose of prednisone. Isn't that too much
Is methylprednisolone from CADISTA (pills for humans) safe for 12 yo cat?
CBC showed low red blood cell count & VERY low white blood count. Vet prescribed 5mg Prednisone every 12 hrs 2nd CBC, 1 wk later showed normal red & high white blood counts. Continued Prednisone at 3/4 tablet every 12 hrs for 3 weeks. This sounds excessive to me, what do you think. Can damage occur with continued use of Prednisone? No diarrhea, No vomitting, No fever, Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks, Jan
My dog, 11-year-old cocker spaniel, has been taking 10 mg of prednisone for inflammatory bowel disease for a little over a year. He took itt every day at first, then we went down to every other day, then every 3 days. Along the way he had a couple of flare-ups and we would go back to every day again, then wean him back down. In June I had him weaned down to every 4 days and he has done great since then. He's had no flare-ups since February 2018. I took him to the vet, who I trust, last week
18 pound dog was prescribed two 20mg of prednisone per day (so a total of 40mg of prednisone per day). After 5 days my dog had weak muscles and could barely jump on the bed. He was also panting and tired. Is this normal because it hasn’t been a week and he’s already having these symptoms - there’s also light brown spots next to his groin area and I’m not sure if that’s also a normal side effect.
My little guy is taking 20 mg prednisone 1 x a day for 10 days. He has cancer in lymphoids as of 12/21/18. Dr. didn't prescribe weaning off prednisone, when 10 days are up that's it, cold turkey stop! Shouldn't he be weaned off???
Vet prescribed Prednisone 5gm tablet for cats. Do I pill him or can I grind it into food? Also for my other cat vet prescribed Albuertol Sulfate syrup 2mg for "as needed" can you tell me what is that used for and is it just used for coughing spells.
