Not as good as our regular brand

I have a cat litter I buy regularly, but Petco doesn't carry it. Since I use their repeat delivery, I thought I'd look for one that was similar so I could consolidate everything. Based on what I read, Dr. Elsey's was the closest. I ordered one bag to try it out. It comes in a thick plastic bag like our regular brand. I have a bucket I keep litter in as I find the plastic bags awkward. I poured it in and immediately noticed now much darker in color it is compared to the brand we use. It also kicked up a decent amount of dust. I mixed some of this with their regular litter and none of the cats seemed to notice a difference as it became more and more new litter vs old. The only one that noticed was me. This clumps well and there aren't any issues with tracking. I also didn't see any dust clouds when they used it, but as far as covering odor, our regular brand works much better. We have one cat who is pretty smelly. This really didn't do much to combat that. I also couldn't get over the color. I don't know why, but the darkness of it bothered me. It just looks like road gravel. The price is also a bit higher than what we usually spend on the same size bag. Based on that, as much as I was wanting to consolidate, I will continue to use 2 different pet delivery services.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Worst litter ever! I first fried the kitten attract one and loved it! No issues but the box is small and expensive for the size so decided to give this one a try and it was horrible! Does not clump well at all, sticks to the bottom of my stainless steel box and has a horrible odor. I clean my box twice a day and did not help. The litter also sticks to the scooper it was just a horrible litter i will nevee purchase again!

Dr. Elsey's cat litter is Ultra Good!

This litter is excellent. Both my adopted feral and I have severe allergies. This litter is almost dustless, and I buy the unscented version, which is good for both of us. It scoops up easily, and my cat never has "issues" with the litter box.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Big disappointment

I was really looking forward to using this litter after reading the reviews. What a disappointment! Didn't clump well, had "mud" in the bottom of my litter box. Very difficult to scrape off the bottom of my stainless litter box. No odor control at all. I scoop three times a day, so that isn't the problem. I couldn't wait to get rid of it.

No, I do not recommend this product.

This is the best litter we've used. With 9 cats, odor control is important and this litter fits the bill.

Will this litter be okay to use for a 5 month old kitten?

  1. Sure it’s excellent litter but it’s very heavy

Is this ok for kittens to use for example if they were to eat it my kitten is under 2 months old

  1. I use this for adult cats and it is excellent for that purpose. For kittens however you may want to use a corn based litter until it is a bit older. Probably a question best answered by your veterinarian or a call to Dr Elsy's. good luck with your little one!

Is this safe for a ferret to use along with the cat?

Is there a production issue that will be fixed soon? This litter USED to be 99% dust free, but in the course of the past year it has changed. It now sends up clouds of dust whenever I scoop. I don't want to have to find a replacement. :(

    1. Has this been an ongoing situation? If not maybe you got a bad batch. I have been using this litter without any issues for several years.

would someone know what the dr. elsey's ultra scoopable multi cat litter is made of ? thank you

This is advertised for multiple cats, superClump?? how super?? I am drawn to friendly ingredients, for both my cat and myself.

      1. I have used this litter in the Littermaid electric litter box and it clumps hard enough and quickly enough that there is little to no "breaking" of the clumps. It's that super. Add to that, it's unscented, controls odor amazingly, is relatively low dust and doesn't bother my asthma... I won't use anything else.

my local petco only sells Cat Attract and I wonder if it is because it is more expensive than Precious Kitty

      1. That's a weird one. However, to resolve your issue you can order Precious Cat online!
