Works great for litter box training kittens

Great for training kittens to use a litter box. I had tried adult litter but it was not working. The kittens were peeing in their birthing box and it was a real mess. Then I read about this litter. And it worked like a charm! They immediately started using the litter box and it’s been a blessing! And it forms hard clumps that are easy to scoop out. Neutralizes odor well too. It tends to track out but that’s a minor problem compared with kittens peeing all over the place.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Kitten did use it - but like cement on paws

My 5 week old kitten did understand to use the litter box with this litter in it - maybe that is due to the kitten attracting elements. However, it stuck to his little paws like Cement. Like I saw others say, this might not be an issue if your kitten understands how to cover their waste, but for my boy still navigating how to move around in the litter box & doesn't cover well and often ends up stepping in it in the process - this wasn't the best for us. If washed off immediately it's not bad, but if he steps in it overnight it's seriously like trying to get glue off his paws. I am mixing a little in with his new litter for that kitten attracting element, but I don't know if I would really recommend it - especially for orphaned kittens who might not have seen how to use a litter box.

Do not buy unless you like the scent of a litter b

I recently bought this cat litter on a recommendation from a sales clerk. This only works if you like the scent of cat poop. Does not cover cat odor at all. Would not recommend this.

Clumping Not Safe for Kittens!

MommaKitty

I have a kitten and needed something kitten friendly as her little paws did not like the litter I was using. With the name Kitten on the box, I thought this was perfect. I was so wrong!!! This is clumping litter, everywhere on the internet you are advised not to use clumping litter with a kitten. It gets stuck in their paws and they ingest it while grooming themselves. It can then clump in their small digestive tract and causes blockages. The worst part is that the particles are very small and I swept and swept to get rid of them and still kept finding more. I checked the kitten's paws and found it stuck to her little paws between the pads. Once it gets moist, it clumps to the fur or whatever else it touches. Please do not use with kittens! I can't believe the inventor is a vet and would put such a horrible product on the market to be used with sweet little kittens.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Great to get the littles into using the litter box

I foster baby kittens and while clumping litter is a little risky, I find just putting 1/2 cup or so on top of the clay litter helps the kittens home in on the litter box within a day.

Yes, I recommend this product.

i mean it’s okay..

bought this about two weeks ago.. it’s alright but it gets REALLY stuck in my kitten’s paw pad and her fur. i’ve been trying to switch from a clay litter but she refuses to use the litter box unless it has an attractant. i liked the cat attract it wouldn’t stick as much to her and it was easier to clean off her due to it being like little pebbles. this one is so finely made it’s like cement. if i were to opt for a clay litter it would probably be the clean tracts or red attract but definitely switching over to something else

No, I do not recommend this product.

We brought home an 8 week old kitten who my fiancé rescued at his fire station.. I had bought this litter hoping it would be good and it turned out being GREAT! We had our kitten litter box trained in one day! It also does a really great job of masking any oder or scents. 10/10 recommend!

Yes, I recommend this product.

Questions

Do you add this into any type of litter or do you use it alone?

  1. We've been using this litter alone throughout the lifespan of our two cats (they are now 9 years old).  It has a soft, fine, almost sandy consistency which our cats seem to prefer.  We twice tried (without success) to transition them to another well-rated litter by mixing the two kinds.  One cautionary note:  once in a great while, our log-haired cat will emerge from the box with a clump matted into the fur on her tail or bottom.

Is there catnip in the kitten litter and is it safe to use for 6 week old kitten?

  1. I don't think it has catnip, but has an herbal attractant to induce use. The package recommends at 8 weeks of age. When we got our kitten -- 3-1/2 yrs ago -- she would not use ANY other brand. We tried Kitten Attract and she went to it almost immediately, and have NO accidents since. I HIGHLY reccommend Kitten Attract for any kitten/cat!!

Is this safe to eat? It gets stuck on my kittens paws and mouth so he tries to eat it! I’m worried  because he ingested some

  1. I don’t know.  That is a question for your vet or the manufacturer.

does this litter leave a scent on your cats. the one i use now leaves a icky smell on mine.

  1. No. This litter doesn't leave a scent on your cat. The litter doesn't have a scent at all actually. My older cats love it too. It's very fine and they love to dig in it. I'm not sure what scent the cats can smell in it, but they lose their minds when I open a bag. (In a good happy way) I have to keep bags in a plastic tote so they can not get to them they like it so much. They really love the fine texture as well. It's more like digging in sane vs gravel.
