I have had a Pioneer Pet Raindrop Ceramic Fountain for at least 3 years, and it has been excellent in every way. The pump has a slider that you can use to reduce the flow of the water; at low flow the fountain is not very loud at all. It is easy to clean, beautiful, and my cat loves it. When it has been in the dishwasher and I have set it back up for him he comes running to drink out of it - he much prefers it to a bowl of water. I would recommend this without any reservations. I'm shopping now for a bigger model because I'm getting a dog - so glad they have one and I won't have to research for a new brand!

If I filled this completely with water, the motor was quiet, but the minute my cats drank any water, it was so loud again. I actually wrote to the company and complained. They sent me a new motor - but the exact same thing happened. Now my cats have a very expensive static bowl. Don't bother with this product.

I've had this for maybe 8 months now and I wish I'd spent my $60 on something else. Nothing works right with this fountain. The two pieces do not actually FIT together. There is a specific spot to place the top on but if your cat bumps it or moves it in any way, the water flows all over your floor. There is absolutely nothing to hold it into place. The motor housing sits until the top and has a spout which you have to try and center under the top piece hole, which just doesn't work. It also has to be cleaned at LEAST every 3 days to clean out the algae that start growing immediately. The motor is barely working now and I don't think it will make it to one year. I absolutely DO NOT recommend you waste your money on this item. Oh....it IS pretty!
