Description

Gobies are an excellent addition to reef aquariums due to their small adult size, lively personality, and hardy nature. When setting up a tank for this goby, use a few inches of mixed grain sand to allow for burrowing and a secure structure. Before introducing them, ensure all rocks are firmly placed on the tank's bottom rather than the sand, as these fish tend to dig and can destabilize rockwork. Their care is minimal due to their disease resistance; the key is ensuring they are eating well. The Pinkbar Flagtail Goby sifts sand in search of food, naturally helping to keep the substrate clean. Supplement their diet with meaty frozen foods (thawed) and marine sinking pellets for proper nutrition. Since they stay busy working the sand bed, target feeding is recommended to help avoid missing meals. Reaching about 5 inches in adulthood, they make an excellent choice for nano aquariums. The Pinkbar Flagtail Gobies inhabit burrows on Indo-West Pacific coral reefs.
