Poor Collar

DarC

We purchased a In-Ground Fence In Aug. and I have received a second collar because the first one didn't work right. The light would turn red and beat once a then turn back to green. And the second one is doing the same thing. I live on a busy road and I already lost one dog not even a year old, because of a collar not working. Now I don't have one for my Basset . What are we to do?

Wonderful for over 8+ years with big dog

We bought this system almost 9 years ago. Instead of using the 20 gauge wire, we bought 16 gauge wire. Rented a tool that digs and buries the cable at the same time. Our 2 large dogs who are 160 and 130 pounds each have never gotten out of the 1 acre yard. I had a similar system using the wire that came with it from pet safe for a smaller dog in our former house. it stopped working when water line burst. This system has been spliced several times to meet our needs for our 4 legged dogs and never had a problem. We use it with the warning like 6 feet and never put over a 3 of 6 strength. we have always used as inside the yard warning. Everyone knows our dogs will sit down where they know they are safe. The line has been broken when taking out a tree & easily fixed in minutes. We have to have our vehicle up to the garage door for them to get in to go to vet. we charge them when needed without an issue.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Great system, Collar an issue

We have two collars for the YardMax system that we have used for years. We lost our two elderly dogs and now have two 10 mo old German Shepherds. The system was easy to train the new dogs on but the pups are destroying these collars! I have had to order numerous replacement receivers and repeated collars - and they are only 10 mo. old! I went to the site to order another replacement receiver and they are out of stock! YIKES!

Works well for about six months

I've been buying these about every six months. That's because they work great for a while, but then start going off randomly. It really bothers my dog when she's getting shocked for no reason. It's also pretty expensive to replace them that often. I'm beginning to think I should just put in a physical fence.

Great fence-terrible collar

I had the same issue as many other people in here. The collar strap loop broke off the collar. I called customer service and was told this isn’t really a manufacturer defect but they would replace it this one time. I’m happy they did so but if this is a continuous problem and covered as I see was the response, why just one time? Crossing my fingers it doesn’t happen again. This has kept my dog contained but at this price I can’t afford to keep replacing them if it continues to happen.

Allows our 4 dogs to run and play in the yard

These work great! We have 4, 1 for each (large sized) dog. The only complaint I have is the little rubber piece that protects the charging port often falls off and is sometimes hard to push into the collar after charging. Our original collar is about 4 years old and we haven’t had any issues with it so far!

The colllars don’t hold up well after only months of use the charging pins will break or sheer off or they’ll just literally stop working…trash
