I feed them in separate bowls on each side of the fireplace. They are grazers eat some leave etc. I put morning portion in their bowl and then later if empty evenings. I’d like to them to eat all their dry food in two meals and finish in a timely manner. How to train them to do this without making them get too skinny? And how many cups should I feed them? The bag says 2 1/2-3 but they won’t do that. Younger dog is 8 months They eat Pure Balance Trout n Lentils mixed w/
I have an automatic pet feeder that has 2 containers. One opens at 7am and the other at 7pm. I just realized that they both opened at 7am and Luna ate pretty much all the food for the day (1/2 cup). Will she get hungry at night so do I feed her more food later or do I not give her anything because she alreadybate her whole day's portion?
I bought a slow feeder from the pet store to slow down my cat's eating but she is barely eating and she will walk away from the dish. I don't know what to do if I go back to feeding her like I was she will gorge on her food and then throw it up. How can I get her to start eating more from the slow feeder?
How do I shift my cats from 'free feeding' (I let them eat whenever they want because I work long hours) to being fed 2 times a day (because I need to feed each cat different feed)?
Right now I am feeding mostly pate cans of Fancy Feast - 4 cats - 6 bowls and I feed separately to one who is old and I do this or she would never get any. My vet wanted my one cat Kahlua on a Hill's prescription G/D diet hard foot so I leave that out for free feed. This has brought her lab values back to normal. They are becoming fat. Is it okay to continue like this? Thanks.
How can I help slow down my dog’s eating?
I see it commonly recommended that a cat's left over food be taken up no more than an hour after feeding. Since I feed my cat a homemade raw diet I can see the wisdom of that. The problem is that my skinny cat is a grazer, not a gorger, and she will usually empty her dish sooner or later. What are the chances of training her to eat her fill in 2 meals a day instead of in this bit-by-bit pattern?
How can i get my dog to eat more? I feed her Hill's science diet (small & toy breed formula).I give her 2 1/4 cups but she only eats a portion and leaves it sitting there all day. I have tried to split the portion into 2 and feeding her 1/4 cup in a.m. and 1/4 cup pm but she won't eat the p.m. feeding. She is small...7.6lbs and she is a toy poodle and she is also uninterested in "wet" dog food.
For my other cat Luna, as soon as her food opens (automatic feeder) she finishes it all right away, but for Mina she only eats a bit at a time and takes almost the whole day to finish it. Right now their food is in different rooms and I monitor them while they eat. Soon they will be in the same room and I won't always be home. If Mina doesn't finish her food right away Luna will for sure eat it. So how do I stop this from happening, and how can I get Mina to eat all/most her food at once?
This is where Luna's food is stored. For the past few days I've caught her biting the container lid. Why is that? She's fed 1/2 cup per day of purina cat chow naturals, but is she still hungry?
I just got this dog and am a little rusty on dog ownership I've been giving her about 2 cups of dry dog food twice a day. Is that enough or too much? should I just leave out a self-dispensing water container? I don't know if I should regulate her water intake.
I rescued a mutt (might be a pit mix or catalouha type medium ish dog) from a shelter a few months ago, he is now 6 months. We feed him 2 cups a day, but he still seems hungry and eats quite fast. He seems to be a healthy weight but sometimes the stomach right in front of the back legs looks a bit on the skinny side. How much should we feed him a day? We don’t want to underfeed or overfeed. Please help, thank you!
