However, it is worth sharing that Our Stay & Play Wireless Pet Fence does not have a built in battery back-up in the event of a power outage. We recommend the use of an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) for use with your wireless fence. In rare instances, if your pet is near the boundary at the time when the power fails, it is possible that your pet will receive a correction. This correction will stop after a 15 second timeout period has been reached. This is due to the operation of the collar: the collar is activated by the absence of the containment signal. Your pet should also never wear this style of containment collar indoors and the transmitter should not be within 5ft of large amounts of metal. This will help avoid any interference situation that may cause the collar to think the pet has left the boundary and provide a correction. We hope this information is helpful. If you have dramatic changes in elevation in your yard, the signal from the transmitter may not be able to reach those areas where the elevation dips upward or downward, which can create issues with reduced range and inconsistent collar activation.
